So I was relaxing at home, post Super Thurs...err.. Tuesday, and went browsing through the usual feed on imgur. I knew the political posts would be out in force, and I would never see anything close to the right. Post after post of Orange Man Bad.

I got pretty fed up with it, and I could tell I was craving salt. With the political season kicking into full swing, I began scouring the net looking for something, anything so I could feel like I was winning.

Something clicked in the back of my brain... I remember hearing about reddit in 2016, specifically about T_D. I never played it much mind, but perhaps it was time to take a journey.

First place I ended up was r/thedonald, and after a quick look around realized that this couldnt be it. After spotting a Drake meme with the first box being The_Donald, I continued to hunt the trail.

When I got there, all I found was an empty husk. I started to panic. Perhaps I missed the train? I wandered through the mostly dead posts, pushing aside the cobwebs of a quarantine zone. There were specks of salt here and there, even a canary that looked like it was on its last legs.

Then I spotted it, .win. That had to be it, perhaps they all moved there? Other comments said things like .win was low energy, or just not the same... but I was determined.

Walking past the wall and the golden archways, I knew I had arrived. Heaps of memes, piles of salt, so much winning. Glorious.

The very next day I was eager to jump online again and pour through posts... but the server was down? It wasnt the internet, no... that was fine. They cant have been shut down, they only just started!

The day was dull, I had found glory and lost it in a single day.

But it doesn't seem that way anymore. Server is back up, energy is high, the memes, they flow. This place is constantly winning in spite of the attacks.

Thank you for being here. I'm still very new and hardly understand some of the lingo, but I'm gradually picking it up. Things like tendies and pedes I'm still trying to figure out, but I'm sure it will come in time.
