They're refusing all donations. I suppose we have some patriotic wealthy benefactor(s) to thank.
I would like to see us hold fundraisers for various organizations. Like Judicial Watch or Project Veritas. or maybe form The Donald PAC and use it to run Google and Facebook ads to direct people here. All sorts of things we could do, if the Mods were willing to co-ordinate it.
There is a post at the top which explains a bit, but the moves they have made are in line with the creation of a forum that will eventually extend beyond a Trump party. Do you really think a handful of people are investing their time, effort and money to throw a 5 year party for a tiny group of supporters? If that were the case, they’d take the donations.
So what? Is there a point? You don’t have to contribute content or surf here if it upsets you. Personally capitalism is my friend, and if someone was smart enough to seize the obvious opportunity, more power to them.
Reddit makes money from advertising. This site has none. Nobody is making any money here because there is no advertising. The investment they are making is to build enough of a base to sell advertising spots. As of yet, they are paying for us to have this spot to share support for the President. If they fail to gain enough users to meet the advertising threshold, they will ask for donations or membership fees.
If reddit hadn’t been censoring and playing games with quarantines, this site would never have seen the light of day. The mods here took a chance that they could round up and siphon enough people from reddit to kick start their own platform.
If shit goes south, I hope they break down and ask for donations.

There’s plenty of money. The reality is, this site is a business. There will be advertising as it becomes a viable product.
Despite the appearance, nobody is doing this out of the goodness of their heart.
I don't know how you can be certain of anything unless you're privy to inside info.
Is your user name a GD reference? I saw them from 1986 - 1995.

Define tiny group of supporters to you though?
Reddit made tons of money off of us. If we have a place to go that won’t censor us and those people make money off of that, let them.
At least we’re hurting Reddit at the same time.

k......
I don’t even care. You can make money off me as long as you provide solid conservative content.
This is why some mods were removed from t_d half a year or so ago. They didn't agree.

I get that, and I understand it. But from what I've heard the back end deal for this was very lucrative for the three of the mods.
