That seems to be the reigning excuse for every thuggish sentiment and action taking place today: "hey yo, youse guyz don' unnerstan' dat growin' up in [Brooklyn, Bronx, Harlem, Queens, Lower East Side, whateverthefuck], is how we tuok t' putzes who piss us off..."

If these people are that casually brutish and vicious, they're not making a very good argument in favor of big city cultural norms, are they? I'm not sure incubating yet-more urbanization is a civilizationally healthy thing.
