What "price" is there to be paid by Justices who hold their appointed positions for life terms, other than losing their lives? Do you or Fuck Schumer somehow think it's in any way logically possible that Democrats are going to not only win the Presidency, but also keep their House majority, AND flip the Senate to have a supermajority, all of which are required to impeach and remove a Justice?
There is no logical argument to be made that the "price" would be anything but physical violence to the point of death because there is no logical argument to be made that the above political backlash would happen. The entire point of lifetime appointments to SCOTUS is to be removed from the ebb and flow of politics and the backlash thereof.
