Midwits.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Midwit

110-120 IQ people are truly a sad lot.

Too much IQ = Liberal "elite" & globalists tho

Get too smart on the conservative side and you're either a black piller, Ron Unz, or a regulation-jockey Business Xer.

Sweet spot is probably those man bun brewery dudes whose dogs have their own insta pages.

Conservatism is as much about wisdom as it is intelligence.

Example: Choosing not to be disgruntled because someone else is more ‘wealthy’ than you.

Wisdom, though, is often confused with intelligence.

Nah. Example 1=GEOTUS and example 2=James Woods. I’m in research with some pretty high IQ folks who candidly support Trump. This midwit shit is hysterical though...they are like NPCs that can recall a couple more DNC talking points. I liken those “debates” to Von Kaiser instead of a Glass Joe kind of difficultly.

I'm not bullshitting numbers, I've been IQ tested properly twice in my life and my scores were 149 and 151. I remember because i'm a conceited little shit.

The smarter people get, the more likely they are to lean socialist but not because they are smart, but more because they are terribly arrogant. Imagine people telling you that you are smart your whole life. Then imagine someone presenting some issue, like the cost of education. There is some very real desire to opine about it, without understanding the reasons costs have gone up, or even understanding economics. You're smart! You probably can figure this out on the fly. And then you get some retarded "solution."

The other problem with high IQ people is they often follow the rules of their society to a T (I didn't say laws, just the rules of their social group. Hence Podesta can be a child molester but follow the rules.) They assume laws are like the rules for everyone and everyone follows them (and more specifically, their intended effect.) Smart people are lacking in empathy and cannot imagine people different from them.

This sort of conceit isn't just a smart people problem. Really anyone built up like that will have the same sort of attitude. For instance, a great athlete, or someone who actually had their parents raise them with everything they wanted. It's just that smart people are usually VERY good at some field so the validation never stops. You'll notice a lot of the popular atheists are usually accomplished in some field of science which leads them to try to talk about philosophy and religion with the same weight they carry in their respective fields.

Sorry for the ramble, but I have a lot of experience with the super smart types. The solution that works best I've found is religion. Reading the saints' diaries helped me. They never compared themselves to others except to put their flaws up against the most charitable description of the other person. They always compared themselves to God though and constantly saw their shortcomings. With that attitude you could be the smartest person on Earth and never be a socialist.

Hello Qari I appreciate what you wrote and agree with a lot of it. However I think most of the people attracted to socialism have above average iq but are not high level iq such as yours.

I believe it is hard for high level iq people to function in a typical liberal environment due to all the hypocrisy. I am 45 years old and now live my life besides my wife and children pretty much not talking to anybody other than small talk. I go to Church, play organized sports, involve with my children's school etc. but I don't talk to people really.

The people I see thriving are people that are smart enough to write a good essay or who can repeat the orange man bad talking points they heard on the tv.

spez (I write spez when I comment on Zero Hedge and other website now lol). The conceit you describe I see as narcissism. We live in an age of narcissism.

elitism isn't about how smart you are, it's about how smug you are while worshiping "authority"

2
thewordwolf 2 points ago +3 / -1

What an odd thing. But it rings true.

The arrogance of surety. These are the same people who would have been ardent supporters of witch hunting.

lol Funny. Good analogy.

But i'm super smart and I'm good. I LOVE seeing clearly.

Has a lot to do with a generation of lower T males, raised by women, shielded from sport and exercise in their youth, fed veggie diets with soy. Now they lack the T to remain calm and confident. They are quick to take offense and get depressed, also too self conscious to admit they don’t know something of have an ounce of humility.

Porn addiction doesnt help T levels either. Everyone should be striving to quit ASAP, this is part of why ED is such a big problem here.

My wife doesn't get into the political debates with me...but when it comes to the corona virus she went ballistic at all the messed up crap that's being said.

she's a family nurse practitioner and the first thing she said was "the FLU has killed around 20 thousand people in the USA JUST THIS FLU SEASON!!" worry about that before you worry about the corona virus.

I deal with nurses constantly at my job (not a nurse) but I hate their ignorant mindset. Herpes doesn't kill the majority of people who have it yet noones clamoring to get it.

The reason medical professionals are acting like this thing is a nothing burger is because there is no vaccine to it so to them it's "why worry about it if your healthy you're fine."

I have to unsub from the coronavirus sub it's just endless USA bashing, Trump bashing, and rampant fear mongering.

Not saying corona isn't something to be taken seriously, but reddit is the absolute worse when it comes to hive mind bullshit

Same here. And you can't talk reason to any one, if you try they assume your saying that precautions shouldn't be taken. I think most reasonable people agree. Don't panic, but play it safe, get a little extra supplies just in case (don't panic buy), wash your hands and stay away from the sick people.

I think you are half right. The trade agreement actually has a clause saying that they can suspend following it “in the case of national emergency”. That means either if two things is true:

1: Thry are lying about the numbers trying to make them look worse, so they don’t have to follow the agreement. This would be only because they are in such bad shape economically that they need something like this to cook the books even more. (Unlikely) 2: they are lying to make it seem better than it is, since they need the economy to be working or else the jig is up. Without the cheap loans backed by their economy, the whole BRI falls apart, which is the lynchpin to their plans.

While I don't disagree with the premise that China lies, for God's sake they do it constantly. China really has shut down a good portion of it's industry at that would appear to be the case from those maps we've all seen where China's pollution out put has dropped to almost nothing.
