I am not a fan of Progressives. I am Left of Centre. The Progressives have destroyed political discourse. Their tactics are as totalitarian as any they accuse Trump of.

Now i don't have to tell you that Progressivism is poison or Bernie is an old kook.

The thing that most people do not get about Progressivism is it is all about the journey and not the destination. It may not sound entirely sensible. People go on journey to get to a destination right?

But think of the Sanders and Thunebergs of the world. What do they actually offer than a sense of outrage and ingignation? They imagine a Utopia that cannot and has not existed and catigates everyone for not being at that place. When pinned down to how that could exist they have no real clue.

Rudderless ships in a storm with turbines of full.

See the Progressives will never have a point where they will not talk about systemic racism or systemic sexism. They do not know how this could be achieved or anything like. They have no quantifiable measure nor be able to see improvement. The country is racist and sexist and always was and always will be and they are the brave, moral, clever travellers and leaders.

They do not want it to be acceptable or to have arrived at their destination or not to be outraged.

I am hoping in time they are seen as of no more of consequence than Hippies and seen with a sense of derision

There is two things they hate

  1. having their carefully scripted ideology exposed as shallow moral pandering with no substance and 2) laughing at the once their intellect and moral virtue is exposed as phony.

Always go beyond feels and injustices. Look for quantifiable. Let them know that you do not blndly trust Bernie, where does the money come from and the future money, the Green New deal what will that cost, what will stop a land of abundance becoming like every other Socialist country, assuming women in general make different life choices, how will pay gap be eliminated?

Pin them down and watch them squirm

I'm with you, I'm more like a classic liberal/libertarian. The left has taken super agreeable social issues like gay rights and women's rights and turned them into this weird toxic cult that no one can relate to anymore. The republican party seems to notice this and is slowly taking over some of the more socially liberal issues while maintaining conservative financial beliefs. I hope this party continues to grow like that, Trump is definitely helping to shape it that way

Libertarianism/Voluntaryism is something all people can and should unite for.

It’s the simple principle that it is a violation of other’s rights to initiate non consensual force against other people or their property.

100% with you.

I find myself saying things like "Okay so now "aborting babies" at or after birth is morally supportable? Well fuck you, i don't agree with Conservative views on abortion but at least they are sane"

I also agree with you on the latter. The Republican have defintely moved in a lot of the left lane (not hard left but just left of centre where i am -the space the "moderates"deserted as the became more Progressive.

This is really the only reason i don't mind backing Conservatives and strongly. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Sane is sane. What happens when Trump is gone and Progressives are vanquished? I am happy to wait and see. Happy to keep backing Conservative whenever they make sense.

Thank you for that.

Isn’t it nice to be able to come here, and express your thoughts with people you may not agree with politically?

I think systemic racism and systemic sexism PROVE that neither of these things exists at any high level. If they did, you'd go after the person. But now there are no longer people doing those things so you go after this obscure undefinable "system."

I've even heard the phrase "systemic systems."

In any event, sounds like a good argument for less government (and less systems!)
