I have an advanced degree and just came across this quote for the first time in my life in my 40s. Sad about our educational system.
I’m almost sure we are at the point that quoting the founding fathers can get you banned. So, if the community will indulge me, I’m going to do just that.
Realize this site is for Trump. He is the ONLY one who could have saved this republic in 2016, I’m more and more convinced. Our forefathers would delay down their lives for liberty and we are scared of being called a name (racist ____phobe etc) . Have to get that fighting spirit back.
By John Parker btw, battle of Lexington
I've read that quote a few times. Had forgotten who said it. Thx.
Sorry "Betterdedthanred' the quote is NOT from Captain John Parker of the Lexington, Minuteman Company. It is a quote from the Early National Era of American History. Its right there with "Plymouth Rock" Washington & the Cherry Tree &tc. Its all from, mostly, Parson Weems, the infamous early American Historian and writer. Source? I worked for the US National Parks Service, Concord/Lexington, for 25 years. But as good old Rah Rah USA! propaganda its first rate. Oh, Captain Park and his mostly drunk militia took one double vision look at the British Regulars and began to retreat, before the Son of Liberty {i.e. AntiFa of 1775} took a pot shot at the Regulars to 'open the Ball" as was said.
So, it may be apocryphal. Lesson learned.
