It's not the end of the world, but this virus is serious, it's death rate looks like it's about 1%.

A 1% death rate from SARS-CoV-2 spreading among the American population would kill 3.3 million people, while 60 million Americans would suffer from extreme breathing complications. If the hospitals are full and people are left on their own (like 1918), for those that are suffocating (20% of cases) and don't have access to oxygen masks or respirators that you get from a hospital, the death rate could climb to 5-10%.
The good news is that kids don't seem to be affected, the bad news is that your parents or grandparents are in severe danger. 120 million Americans are over the age of 50, many more people have serious conditions that the virus could use to attack their body.

I truly believe this virus was engineered in a lab to be used as some sort of bioweapon. Stefan Molyneux had a few guests on his show who talked about how the virus was not a natural mutation, but a mix of SARS, HIV, and a Corona virus that was used to carry the desease.
On the one hand I could see the Chinese Communist Party trying to develop a deadly disease to unleash on the world, but as incompetent as they are, release it on themselves first accidently.
However, on the other hand, the Chinese culture of eating anything that moves and keeping wild animals alive until the time that you buy it to 'keep the meat fresh' is a disease riddled cesspool, anything can happen.
Bubonic Plague, Spanish Flu, SARS, Avian Flu, every time it comes from China.
