They play the race card when it's convenient because no one actually scrutinizes them over it. The Left won't scrutinize them because as far as they're concerned, anyone who claims to have been discriminated against by anyone on the Right deserves to be believed automatically, evidence be damned. Baby brains on the Right believe them because it's confirmation bias, "I think Jews are dirty liars etc. etc. but I'm just going to listen and believe when anyone claims they're Jewish!"
