FYI, he already passed the gestation period so if he were to have symptoms he would already, word is he is has very low chance of having anything. just precautions

If I remember correctly, the early estimates on the virus said that the incubation period could take as long as 2 weeks or as short as 1-2 days. His self-imposed quarantine is a mix between "honest medical precautions" and "easy way to get a week or two off without having to do any campaign work".

The CDC's current guidelines suggest 14 days, but a new body of research appears to suggest that the mean incubation period is 6.4 days. As more data is collected, the apparent window is starting to narrow, because prior research has been pretty consistent that it's bounded in the 2-14 day range based on known characteristics from other coronaviruses, such as MERS and previous SARS outbreaks. I don't know of any research that suggests it's close to a month, because that would be significantly longer than the behavior observed previously.

The variability we're seeing may be due to the possibility that there appears to be two separate strains of SARS-CoV-2.

odd if this is flu-like people usually wake up feeling sick the next morning after coming in contact with carriers

"they" don't even know how long the gestation period is. Most are feeling like it's over 14 days as people released from quarantine after this amount of time have been getting sick...
