Fuck WHO. I don't believe or trust anything from them

63
Sumarongi 63 points ago +64 / -1

The head of the WHO is leader of the Ethiopian Maoist revolutionary party, who has received graft from China in the form of ‘infrastructure deals’ loans, kickbacks, and bribes

He... is... not ... even ... a ...doctor.

Look it up

You got a handy link about the Maoist party?

1

He has a masters in Immunology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and got a PhD in Community Health from the University of Nottingham. You don't have to be an MD/DO in order to understand medicine or anything even remotely related to medicine.

Fantastic!

It's almost like the people who like Trump can actually think for themselves....This is not true of the vast majority of the other side.

Nobody should blindly trust such an organization. However, we should take their non-woke/non-virtue signaling messages into account but know, at the end of the day, you need to look out for you and yours.

Normally, a virus like this, tells the human race, stop the acts of propaganda, get your shit together or people will seriously die. But they're called DemonRats for a reason - if they cared about saving lives, they wouldn't be Demons~

2
I-am-but-an-egg 2 points ago +2 / -0

Nah, that would take a serious medical threat to healthy people. This corona virus kills the weak (the elderly and those with immune system issues). If you get it you will be sick, like the flue, for a week to 10 days.

It is good for ratings though.

To be honest, the WHO are not doctors. They are administrators who just so happen to flee the OR as quickly as possible because they didnt want to deal with treating the sick.

They act exactly like Hospital Administrative Officials. They only put in the minimum time practicing but their end goal is to the the head of administration, make close to seven figures and never touch another living soul... Pretty much being a waste of degree and space.

11
Rodrigo 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yes - just like "School Administrators."

2
Yawnz13 2 points ago +3 / -1

That isn't entirely accurate. Tedros Adhanom's Maoist links aside, the dude is a doctor. Is he a medical doctor? No, but neither are pharmacists. People seem to be under this fantastical yet mistaken presumption that the WHO are a group of people who treat patients. They're epidemiologists and the like. Why would an epidemiologist practice medicine in the first place? That is literally not the point of the job. They practically say as much themselves.

1
MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's not even that, even if an Epidemiologist is a specialist in the medial field. They still are required (mainly in the U.S) to put some time into residency. Its mainly for the idea that it puts a human face to the disease you are trying to resolve through your specialization.

The fact is that the WHO is supposed to be this platinum standard when it comes to the big brains out in the medical world. Yet with every epidemic they are caught flatfooted, ineffective and often subversive to their own Hippocratic oath. Someone at the administrative level cares more about their income and celebrity than the lab specialists who is trying to defeat a disease after seeing said disease ravage the human body.

Its always going to be that way and it will never change but the media does the public no favors in trotting out administrators whom are agenda driven, versus the doctor who spent 48 hours trying to sequence the RNA of a virus on what the public should do.

No they're not stupid, they know the role their Chinese paymasters want them to play. If quid pro quo Joe Biden gets elected, dear lord, may God help us -- China already invested $2 billion into a hedge fund (or should I say slush fund) run by Hunter Biden.

7
Sumarongi 7 points ago +8 / -1

Not one treatment ward. All info from the CCP. Totally not a propagandistic hoax

3
boxmakingmachines 3 points ago +3 / -0

I started reading it with an open mind, but as I went further into the interview it was just non-stop rainbows and unicorn farts about how China is handling the virus, making me really wonder why they’d print it because no one with the slightest bit of critical thinking ability would believe it

There are videos online right now of the Chinese government welding doors shut on apartment buildings full of sick people. The amount of outright Chinese propaganda circulating in our MSM these days is ridiculous

The WHO has been fucked on this from the outset - they sound like many compromised institutions around the world, and here in the U.S., that now serve the Chinese communist party.

14
Staatssicherheit 14 points ago +15 / -1

If they got time to worry about this shit, the virus must not be that bad?

15
StillplayenSometimes 15 points ago +15 / -0

It's not, it's serious no doubt, but take whatever the media is reporting; reduce the intensity about 20-30% and you'll be way closer to an accurate representation of what's actually happening. Over 80 percent of people who have the Corona virus will only develop mild symptoms and reach recovery with just time and rest. In fact, there's people who had the virus and didn't even know it, and just brushed it off as a cold. The death toll seems high, but that's just compared to the known cases. As more people are tested that number is believed to get lower and lower. You can expect an even lower number of deaths in the united states due to our advanced and top quality care even the washington post reported on that.

Meddlesom 4 points ago +4 / -0

Woah woah woah... haven't you heard? We have the WORST health care in the world!

Imagine saying this the first day the flu was discovered " ehh it's cool don't worry about it."

12
SquiggyMcPepe 12 points ago +13 / -1

The flu kills 30~100K people a year in the states and no one even gives it a second thought nowadays. Corona virus is less lethal to the average person unless they are old and frail or have respiratory or pulmonary issues in which case it has a slightly higher death rate than the flu. This is not a kill us all pandemic. It's just another form of the flu. The media is waaaaaay overhyping it.

4
Rodrigo 4 points ago +4 / -0

Also smoking is widespread in China, along with low quality air not seen in the USA since the Fifties. Coal smoke anybody?

1
Lemongrass5 1 point ago +1 / -0

An acting like you shouldnt at least plan for it is asinine as well. People on here acting like this thing HASNT killed people.

0
SquiggyMcPepe 0 points ago +1 / -1

Traditional preventative measures for the flu are all you need to do. This isn't h1n1 or sars or the swine flu. It's a mild form of the flu that more or less has little effect on healthy people and has nearly its entire death rate with the elderly who have other debilitating health issues. Keep the old people isolated away from the public and you will be fine.

1
AwakeAwareNow 1 point ago +2 / -1

Which is exactly why you should be concerned. They are lying. Look up black Rain in Japan... the SO2 gas emissions.. the 60-80% decrease of pollution in China. Dude something is way off. It's not adding up to their LOW numbers.

0
alpha_omega 0 points ago +6 / -6

The flu has a 0.1% death rate. China quotes a 2% death rate and who knows whether that's understated, overstated or not -- but I can't think of any good reason they would overstate the number. That's 20x the lethality and not to mention, this virus is more transmissible than flu. Thank God it's not crazy transmissible like measles.

If you like your odds (maybe you're young) I have a great travel package to Wuhan, Daegu or Lombardy to sell you.

6
SordidPontification 6 points ago +6 / -0

South Korea is reporting a lethality rate of 0.6%. The reason for this as an outlier is because they've greatly expanded their testing in the past week. I don't know what the actual lethality rate is, but it's difficult to establish a statistical certainty with small populations (and they're quoting a 5.9% lethality rate in the US after it swept through a nursing home!).

That's 20x the lethality and not to mention, this virus is more transmissible than flu.

I think it's too early to say whether or not it's more transmissible than the flu. The WHO's early reports is that it was 2-3 times more transmissible, but recent papers I've seen seem to be reducing the transmissibility to approximately flu-like levels. I've posted this elsewhere here, but it appears there may be two separate strains of SARS-CoV-2, one of which is less transmissible but more aggressive and another that's more transmissible with potentially milder symptoms. The real danger is that we don't know yet.

If you like your odds (maybe you're young) I have a great travel package to Wuhan, Daegu or Lombardy to sell you.

No one's suggesting healthy people should deliberately expose themselves to this.

I think it's a good idea to take precautionary steps, avoid contact with others, wash your hands, avoid areas where there are outbreaks, etc. But, I also do this whenever there's a flu going around as best as I can, because whether or not it's less lethal than SARS-CoV-2, there's a greater chance in any given year of acquiring it and it's still potentially lethal.

While I don't think panic is a good idea at this point, and it's important to be informed, 3Blue1Brown posted a good video on this and, perhaps ironically, public panic may actually reduce the transmission of this virus.

3
alpha_omega 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yes, I'm glad that public awareness has gone through the roof! I actually wonder if GEOTUS is playing 4D chess with the media when he goaded them into seriously covering the issue (and perhaps over-compensating) with the "hoax" thing. He knows that the media will take the opposite stance from him, so he gives them some red meat and lo and behold Americans are made aware of the dangers.

4
SquiggyMcPepe 4 points ago +4 / -0

The cdc has changed its death rate estimate to under 1% now and that range is almost entirely made up of the elderly who have additional health issues mostly heart or pulmonary related. For the healthy this virus has little effect. The cdc has also stated the risk for the average american is very low to none depending on region due to the early containment and that nearly all the infected so far are foreign infected.

-1
alpha_omega -1 points ago +3 / -4

That's assuming that our hospitals and care system doesn't get overwhelmed. There are only so many ECMOs, oxygen machines and hospital bed to go around. I have faith that our doctors are better trained and better equipped than the doctors in China but if we don't take this thing seriously Manhattan or San Francisco could get quarantined like Wuhan and many other Chinese cities. I know some of us might half secretly desire that, but it is not wise to wish ill on other Americans.

3
SquiggyMcPepe 3 points ago +3 / -0

If the flu isn't clogging up the care system then this isn't going to either because it's just another variety of the flu. The elderly it is most prone to effect are already going to be either in a hospital or some form of nursing home so no additional care will be needed. Again for the healthy many won't even notice they have it past a day or two of slight fever and a bit of flu aches.

4

The common flu us caused by a virus.

There are four types of influenza viruses: A, B, C and D. Human influenza A and B viruses cause seasonal epidemics of disease (known as the flu season) almost every winter in the United States. Influenza A viruses are the only influenza viruses known to cause flu pandemics, i.e., global epidemics of flu disease. A pandemic can occur when a new and very different influenza A virus emerges that both infects people and has the ability to spread efficiently between people. Influenza type C infections generally cause mild illness and are not thought to cause human flu epidemics. Influenza D viruses primarily affect cattle and are not known to infect or cause illness in people.

There's no amount of worry that can stop it though. In fact, stress and worry lowers your bodies immune system. People need to stay calm, wash their fucking hands, stay at home if they feel sick, don't cough into the open air like a momo. Unless your a doctor or scientist, you need to wait, take caution, and relax. There's literally fuck all you can do

Unless you are elderly and have health issues its a fairly mild disease as flu variants go. Wash your hands and follow the normal flu prevention doctrines and you will be just fine. Do people lose their minds over the regular flu season because that kills more globally than this is predicted to do.

I think we should be pretty consistently calling it the “Wuhan virus”

7

A friend in Hong Kong said he heard 60,000 died in USA. So.. knowing they have democrat/commie minds in the gov over there.. they are blaming what they are doing. I think that is more the real number in China.. over a week ago. Black Rain in Japan.

3
SordidPontification 3 points ago +3 / -0

I wouldn't be surprised if it's discovered that one of the animal reservoirs for this virus was either sold to or otherwise picked up by a meat market. Then they'll spin this to claim that it was somehow supplied by the US.

In all likelihood this is their own fault. So I absolutely agree that calling it the "Wuhan virus" is accurate!

3
AwakeAwareNow 3 points ago +4 / -1

The Wuhan lab literally had it on their website that they were studying how to get the bat to not be ill from the coronavirus and to be able to travel long distances with it.

It's not racist to surmise Chinese people may or may not be Chinese and/or have traveled to China and/or know people who are also Chinese who may/may not have been to China....

It's truly amazing how people can't discern NATIONALITY from RACE from RELIGION...

I honestly can't wait to get back to individualism and how it's inherently the minority group of most significance.

Every group is made up of individuals, me not wanting to be near you doesn't make me racist. It makes me independent, and as a minority (whether physically or in Opinion alone) I demand nothing except tolerance for my opinion.

Western countries should sanction and punish China for this virus.

If they weren’t breaking laws by selling weird, banned animals, at a market, this wouldn’t have happened. If they weren’t gross, this wouldn’t have happened.

WHO won’t even let us call it Wuhan virus. Guess China paid them off pretty well.

We should sanction them for the economic damage this has caused, and demand compensation for victims.
