It's such a weird thing but I can actually understand. If i was spending 90% of my money on rent and food in some tax ridden shithole like SF, taking a 1 hour and 30 minute bus ride from your closet apartment with 4 roomates to your job as a cashier at Whole Foods, and spending the other 10% on drugs and coffee, I think I'd rather just be homeless so you don't have to answer to anyone. I have a legal career so I don't have to worry about that, but I daydream about living in the woods off the grid with a wife and kids all the time (but in an actual house).
