So you're saying that for our 300,000,000 population, we should have about 4,800 open critical care beds at this very moment. I won't argue. You're implying several other things:

All COVID-19 cases require critical care for their duration

Not true.

We can't add new beds or convert existing hospital infrastructure for critical care

Not true.

There will be substantially more than 4,800 COVID-19 cases at once in the US, up to potentially 100,000 patients in critical condition at one time

Very doubtful. We currently have a small number of cases, and as Thunderf00t's video on the subject shows, this is very unlikely to balloon to numbers we can't handle.

COVID-19 can't be stopped with U.S. medicine, but instead needs some nebulous treatment that I want you to talk about but won't tell you what it is

?!

You need to get a grip my man. This thing isn't the end of the world, be calm and figure your shit out.

You wrote that many characters but could read the first three sentences of my post? :/

Viruses are resistant to many medications, and it can't be "stopped" with anything less than a vaccine. That doesn't mean it can't be treated.

Chloroquine and Lopinavir are both being tested and show preliminary success at treating COVID-19. I'm not sure how pharmacology is done in the US at this level, but if there's a block on chloroquine being used to treat COVID-19 cases then that block should be removed quickly by the CDC as the currently ongoing trials for chloroquine show positive results. Not sure why doctors wouldn't be allowed to use it, but again, not that knowledgeable.

We can both definitely agree that China's kneejerk reaction of HIDING the outbreak and trying to sweep it under the rug has led to a much worse outcome. They seem to be leaning on the idea that quarantining an entire fucking city is the proper way to handle outbreaks instead of learning their lesson and not suppressing people trying to help with the disastrous spread of a new virus...
