Really? How quickly you've forgot bloody separatist wars in "..istans" (republics) during the fall of SSSR communist regime? Bloody civil war in fall of Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia?
If we are talking specifically about the Balkans then I suggest you read up on the individual ethnicities and their struggles in that region. Their civil war would not happen with the Soviet Union around but once it all fell apart nobody cared if they slaughtered each other. Start here and also about the fateful football match between Dinamo Zagreb and Red Star Belgrade.
Doesn't change the fact that the change came peacefully, nobody had to shoot their way out of socialism. Romanians did because the ruling family there were butchers and got what they deserved. Unfortunately in most countries of the Eastern Block all the communism politicians went straight back into politics and some of them are in office to this day.
You are flat out wrong. Almost every socialist/communist state ended in bloodshed even if you discount all of the bloodshed that occurred during socialist control. People literally had to shoot their way out to escape that fucked up ideology. There were a lot more socialist countries than just the Soviet Union, and even many former Soviet states saw plenty of bloodshed and unrest when the Soviet Union collapsed.
It is you who is flat out wrong, the only one that had a violent revolution was Romania, I am from the Eastern Block, my great grand father was murdered by the communists, my family was stripped of all its wealth and banned from higher education, I know what happened here, my family lived through it and I also know that the revolutions of the 89 were peaceful except for Romania. You should probably educate yourself before you start spouting nonsense. You can get started here
most socialist regimes around the world ended peacefully though like the Soviet Union and the entire Eastern Block except for Romania.

That all happened after the communist regimes fell, they were given freedom and decided that Civil War was their best option, that is their problem.
I see.. they all had a meeting and "decided".. Just like in Venezuela.
Brilliant logic!

Totally peaceful. It's not like millions were killed by the regimes. Besides, it wasn't REAL communism!
