Agreed. Don't forget Y2K too. It was such a shitshow of doom predictions and panic, and literally nothing happened.

Yes. I worked in IT at the time and the last six months of 1999 were miserable trying to respond to all of the inquiries from vendors and customers who were panicking. In the meantime the panic on the early Internet was something to behold. Predictions of us being back in the stone ages were common.

I found an archive of the Gary North web site, which was ground zero for the doomsday crowd:

There was a lot of computer software that had to be fixed ahead of time but this was all done in the background while the media ran around screaming about the end of the world. It's the same thing we're seeing now. Proper precautions are being handled in the background while the media freaks out.

Don't forget all of the hurricane, blizzard and other weather related hysteria.

Well said. My take, don't fear or stress over the unknowns, you will drive yourself nuts. After 9/11 I remember everyone too attached to the news non stop and fears of no sense of normalcy. Understand that the television industry and internet are views and ratings driven. The fear is what drives it. I am not afraid. The powers that be want fear for attention. Don't give it to them and fuck these paid medical experts.
