Everyone who knows about the battle of Cannae and the Spartanic military history of Roman trench columns knows basic weapons development goes (in order): ‘Needs more minerals, bronze ninja swords, melee, WaltherPPK, zergling rush, Golden Gun, Constitution musket, AAAP-01, ABRAAP-O2, MRAP-03, CBRA-24, DCRAP-2015, GLOCK-ASSAULT-1000, AK-ASSAULT-WPN10.2, MAG-CLIP2-11, MKULTRA-MAJESTIC12, FEELLUCKY,PNK?-13, AR-14, M-14, M-16, SEMIAUTO MACHINEGUNNER, BFG, FULL-AUTO SUPER-HORNET AR-35, and finally, StallFART domestic nukular silencers.

Turns our Armalite did make an AR-14; a standard looking semi-auto rifle that didn't go into production. Sure Joe didn't have this in mind (it's empty in there).

Uhhh....the M14 is a .308 with a receiver and gas system that’s absolutely nothing like an M16. Hell it’s even in a different class of weapons known as “battle rifles.” Its predecessor was the M1 Gerand, and that’s the rifle from which it was developed. The M16 was developed from the AR10, which was one of the rifles in competition with the M14 to be the US military 7.62x51mm rifle.
