Hey folks. Born and raised democrat here. It’s taken me 33 years, sadly, to deprogram enough to be here - but I’m finally here.
Thank you guys. This probably sounds absurd, but these past few years under Trump have woken me up to the fucking monsters many of my supposed progressive friends are. They don’t want progress, they don’t truly care who lives or dies. The establishment’s shroud is ripping a little bit at the seams.
Last week I quit my job of 6 years at a non-profit (that gets a tri-county milage) to pound the pavement and get my small video production company off the ground.
Every single Democrat friend of mine tried to warn, scare, or stop me because of shit like not having insurance anymore, etc.
Every single Republican friend of mine has been incredibly supportive and happy to collaborate.
I’ve been a fool, and really fucking wish I could take back voting for Clinton. Hopefully voting for Trump in 2020 will help make up for it.
Started my own business. Literally nothing in life will make you happier than seeing your passions and dreams manifest from your own hard work for yourself. It's not even about the money. It's about creating something that wasn't there before and all driven by your own thoughts and wishes. It's magical. Anyway, sorry for the long winded comment but it's why capitalism and self responsibility are so powerful and socialism/communism and nanny states fail.
