It's infuriating. I'm as supportive as the next guy to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, especially those we have to buy from abroad. We should be building nuclear power plants instead of natural gas power plants. That said, the hysteria over global warming and the hysteria over the Kung Flu should be taken at the same level. There's a problem, sure. The severity of the problem is so small compared to the hysteria that we should take extreme care in forming our own view on it.

Cover it up until it's out of control, then knee-jerk and shut down an entire city and march into buildings in Hazmat suits to remove the "infected" (who just happen to be political dissidents).
