I remember when I was taking a college course and my professor compared climate change to Venus. "Global warming is out of control. Want to know an example of out of control global warming? Venus." he said.

It's infuriating. I'm as supportive as the next guy to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, especially those we have to buy from abroad. We should be building nuclear power plants instead of natural gas power plants. That said, the hysteria over global warming and the hysteria over the Kung Flu should be taken at the same level. There's a problem, sure. The severity of the problem is so small compared to the hysteria that we should take extreme care in forming our own view on it.
