Uber helped me pay off my credit card debt and get a better job after being a stay at home with a huge gap in my resume. It’s not all bad, and 14 days with financial assistance when you’re a contract worker is pretty damn good. Usually contract, no work means no pay.
Not to say Uber is a great company but it is useful, just not necessarily for the long term.
The 14 days is to allow for quarantine. Seems reasonable to me. Also, the majority of Covid-19 cases are more minor than the flu, and ppl dont even realize they are affected. I think this uproar over the virus is silly.
