Year ago I came up with a set of rules for potential politicians, it went something like this:

  1. must have had a real job outside of the public sector for 10+ years (public sector includes contractor to the public sector, military, police, etc etc)
  2. must have lived outside of a city for at least 5 years in their adult life.
  3. can only stand for 10 years.
