He fucked himself by going to therapy and paying off several women over the last 10 years. It lent credibility to the two counts of assault for which he was found guilty. First and third degree, mind you.
Maybe I’m wrong, but this isn’t the guy we should be using to discount the ‘me too’ b.s.
I read Farrow's book. It's pretty fucked up some of the things Weinstein did. And the fact the FakeNews NBC/MSNBC tried their hardest to make sure this story never became public, is fucked up.
Were some women sleeping to advance their careers, absolutely. Were some of them raped by Weinstein, absolutely.
His MO was to invite them to review the script at a hotel bar. Then they'd go upstairs because he forgot something...some out of the bathroom in a bathrob, jerking his shit and making advances, sometimes forcibly.
He forgot the most important rule. If someone screws you to get a job, they had better get the job. Note it wasn't the ones who got rich and famous that were taking him to court. It was the ones that put out and then didn't get the pay off.
On the surface, yes. But I don't know the details of the case enough to know if it is actually true. I would hope a jury with all of the details would have made a non-political decision.
I'm not defending him whatsoever but I'm curious what the "real" reason is that Hollywood collectively decided to throw him under the bus simultaneously after literally decades of being a predator.
I mean, first, this guy is a total piece of shit, yes. However, you know at least some of his "victims" willingly and consensually prostituted themselves in exchange for movie rolls.
Buyers remorse.

He fucked himself by raping actresses who wanted to work. Really fucked up to try to frame it any other way.
It's pretty much standard in that industry AND they all know it! shitty industry, but been like that since the beginning.
Sean Young said when he “propositioned” her she laughed and told him to put that thing away. She never really worked again, though.

He's a rapist. Don't defend him.
He farted on them?
That’s even worse.

To be fair I've not heard of either of the women so good point.

Multiple women testified under oath he raped them. He offered no defense, other than to say he also had sex with women who didn't claim he raped them.
Yep you nailed it!
He's complaining the Me Too has gone too far and yet you know he'd be the one smearing Trump if he himself didn't get caught
No going to defend the man, but I would have thought the testimony would have been a bit more damning.

I guess the actresses will have to find someone else to blow from now on.
