It could have been “just a prank”, except that Mr Smollet chose to dress his “attackers” up in red hats and yell “this is MAGA country” (forget how idiotic that sounds). He made it personal because he made it about us. That’s why it can’t just be forgotten.

Also do not forget that to this day Mr. Smollet maintains that it actually happened, so he says it wasn’t a prank.
