Closing and restricting foreign traffic into the United States is by far the best move for us. It should have been on a global scale. No one gets in, no one leaves in the U.S (even if it means keeping illegals in limbo for now, until you can transport them to safer zones in Mexico, or administer a antiviral to them and deport them). The EU restriction oddly I feel is a tad late, it should have been two weeks ago when Italy started to inflate. Though I feel it was mainly Brussels who was trying to stonewall us from not doing so.
The closure of travel from the EU only serves that a global government is by far the worst thing to have when a pandemic is rampaging. Had the EU allowed their member nations to restrict flights from China, none of the issues they would be having (and near collapse of their medical system) would have taken hold. China, S.Korea and majority of S.E asia would have taken the brunt of this, with mild clusters in the rest of the world.
The fundamental shift of nationalism that was gaining traction...well that's now got a full head of steam. The Wuhan Flu, will be used as a cudgel to beat the Globalists over. The EU as a economic and military bloc will collapse or heavy reform. Trump will in effect get immigration reform and the rest of the wall built because the American People will demand to feel safe in their nation again. Not have foreign invaders come in with pathogens we've wiped out nor be infected by foreign viruses.
As odd as it stands, this is by worse and best outcome we could have hope, yes we wish it didnt have to come down to a virus to make our point. Yet when this is over, our point will be made and it'd be unable to ignore.
This is why the Left wants to weaponize it, they want Trump out of office because if he stays then their aspirations of power and their Republican Simps who crave cheap labor will not get their way. The pressure to de-couple the US from external supply chains will be too great. The same goes for Europe when things blow over, reforms and pulling manufacturing back from China. This just got kicked into overdrive. The Left really should have tried to downplay it like they did with H1N1. All they are doing is fueling their own sides destruction.
