Last Friday had astounding jobs numbers, but those were covered up by the virus and market news. If there was a time to have an outsider event like this, this was it. The best time to get his is when the economy is strong, not weak. All of the pieces are in place for a rapid turnaround but I anticipate the media will keep stoking the fear as much as they can through Election Day.
This whole Coronavirus hoax/fear mongering is in full effect right now. Everywhere I see people in a state of panic, but the most important thing is GEOTUS remains calm and he has a plan. Whatever happens, I don’t think it’s the government’s responsibility to take care of your kids. Maybe you get together with other families to share the load, maybe you plan for emergencies so that you can always withstand an unexpected loss of income, maybe you rely on family, maybe you do something else. You could at any moment be reduced to one income for a huge range of reasons, you should have prepared for that years ago.

IF the government "changes the rules" via quarantine, closing of facilities, placing new restrictions on public gatherings, etc, it is a valid question and concern of are they (we), the government responsible in whole or in part for costs incurred. If 5000 people need to be quarantined, it's an inconvenience, but barely a blip. If 500,000 need to be quarantined, then it becomes a much larger issue. And, last I checked the fifth amendment's "liberty" allows us to travel where we damn well please, and is not overridden by quarantine. (Of course we, as a nation will enforce quarantine protocols upon ourselves).

Actually payroll taxes is to help keep the business overhead down so when the businesses butcher takes off to take care of his kids, the business will have a little more saved up so that the loss of meat sales doesn’t make the business close down. He instituted a temporary travel ban because that is within Presidential authority. He then called on Congress to take action where Congress has the power to do so and he encouraged local governments to take this seriously, while also reminding everyone that this will pass and the economy is not crashing.
