I think this is a dumb response. You offer no real solution only put some sort of child like blame back on the person who has an obvious problem.
For 80 years, kids went to public schools while the parents worked.
Now that’s not a thing. Everyone has this problem and there is no obvious answer. Reminding people that it’s not the government’s problem is intellectually dishonest and not productive.
Of course I don’t “offer a solution”, it’s no more my job to take care of his family than it is the government’s job. It’s his job, that’s the point. People have problems every day, still doesn’t mean government needs to fix those problems.
And no, stating something that’s true is not “intellectually dishonest”. As to whether it’s “productive” is up to him, not me.
