It actually turns out that those guys were covering for his alcoholism, unfortunately. That is what ultimately killed him. He missed some time because of the spider bite but then went MIA, into a really dark place.
I didn't know that, damn, that sucks. Mixed feelings. My favorite out of the Big 4 is definitely Megadeth followed by Slayer. I've got a dozen Megadeth albums in my library and I've got four Slayer albums. Needs more Anthrax, though. \m/
I'm a huge metalhead, although Slayer has never been my favorite. I've got every Megadeth album and a ton of merch. James Hetfield seems pretty conservative too, although he's smart enough not to bring it up haha.
I absolutely love Megadeth. Going to see them in October for like the 5th time. Broke down and bought Meet & Greet VIP tickets cuz I figure this might be the last time I get to? (Hope not)
So you know about Dave’s band camp? It’s kind of pricey, but you get to hang out at Dave’s house for a week. Drink, write music, drink, record music, drink, drink again, listen to Dave tell awesome stories, drink... People I know that have gone said it was the coolest thing they’ve ever done.
I've got tickets for the Houston concert! Hopefully not canceled because of muh Trumpvirus.
Megadeth has got the killer riffs and technique. They're in my top 10 of all-time, along with Black Sabbath and Rush. If you haven't heard Megadeth before, do yourself a favor and listen to Peace Sells front to back right now! Then mosey on over to the Rust In Peace album.
I gained a ton of respect for Hetfield after his Rogan interview. He don’t fuck with that woke shit. Moved from CA to CO to escape it, though the effectiveness of that strategy is questionable at this point.
