This is exactly the response Trump wanted. The only way to get the media off of this story and thus restore some semblance of sanity to the stock market is to get them to acknowledge that this is not the doomsday disease they have been selling.

Option 1. Media continues COVID hysteria, acknowledge Trump is addressing the magnitude of the threat with a proportional response, Trump = Good
Option 2. Media continues COVID hysteria, but claims that Trump's response is overkill, argument loses any semblance of grounding and falls apart, most Americans who were riding the hysteria and were concerned about the nation collapsing will tune out of the media.
Option 3. Media will suddenly shift tunes, say COVID is actually quickly becoming less and less of a threat, the country will be fine, Trump's response is thus overkill and bad (for the economy or whatever else), people will stop panicking and economy will rebound (Trump wins again!).
