Something I learned from working on creative projects in groups is most people love the pre-production phase where you spitball all sorts of grand plans for your project. It's really easy to get lost in a fantasy of creating something that will change the world because, at that stage of planning, none of the inevitable limitations and setbacks have revealed themselves yet.

Unfortunately many of those same people are the first to become de-motivated once the plan begins stumbling into one obstacle after another. You can tell when they've lost faith in the project when they display less excitement for their own project than they do for other, more successful projects or even another hypothetical project that hasn't been started yet. At that point there is no re-motivating them. They have rejected the project the way a scorned would-be lover rejects the person that didn't live up to their romantic fantasy.

This is the same kind of mentality I'm recognizing in a lot of these social constructionists who want to scrap western civilizations and restart from scratch.

Mainly what I see is a lot of tired, stressed out people who don't believe in themselves. They can barely cope with their daily struggles so they surely don't believe they can rise above them. They want more than anything for these struggles to disappear so they're willing to barter their freedom to authoritarians in exchange for having their lives managed for them.

In a weird way I find this strangely motivating...

They’re fundamentally weak and emotional. Literally they spoke of the world ending every time Sanders stumbled.

One post in particular struck me, where a woman claiming to be 31 years old said that she had not worked longer than 9 months in her entire life.

She is on some kind of disability, for what reason she did not say but I guessed psychological. She then said she does not know how to drive due to anxiety problems, and that she believes people like her need support from the government, ending her post by begging for “more compassion in America”.

I’m not worried about these people taking over. They can barely manage their own lives.
