I've trained myself not to respond in any way to irl NPCs unless I feel like putting a nickel in one of them. Through trial and error I've learned that this Bezmenov quote is accurate. I do feel sorry for them but I find even that empathy is dying off with time. Some people are goners. It is what it is.
