I don't think I'd mind a small ad section down on the right side below the rules. Just have a small square there ads can run without bothering people or making the page jump around and do other goofey things.

Reddit tried to drop a Moab and it blew up in their face.
They got what they wanted. There was a huge cash influx to reddit through advertisers. What they don't know or care is that the cash influx was a temporary bump. These people who pushed them to censor in order to advertise are going to abandon reddit as soon as its no longer necessary. Happened to countless websites before it. Media advertising ruins everything by design. It is all about reducing large congregations where the people might actually figure out that they are on the same side of the team instead of enemies.

I have made comments that the site cannot handle the traffic of the reddit and that the mods should not be so ironclad about donations.
Eventually, the costs from attacks and use from millions of supports will out grow the money that even the mods have.

A lot of people don't follow the sub directly, but rather through their home page. I'm more concerned about the number of late arrivals who return to the sub to be hit with a wall of "T_D is dead!" concern trolling, and bullshit about this site being a honeypot.
The sub is definitely lost, but a good chunk of our lurkers have been left with the trolls.
