What do you think is the connection? I mean the actual cause and effect there

2
Sexual-Assault-Rifle 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm not 100% sure but apparently developed countries like Canada "give" viruses and other biological creations to other countries for "research". So in the case of Wuhan virus the thought is it was developed first in Canada and we gave it, along with other strains, to China for "research". I guess the issue is whether it was given legally or not. I suppose that would be why they escorted a Chinese scientist from a Canadian lab and charged them with something (and that something is being hidden IMO as they just keep saying there were administration "issues" so they had to remove the scientist). Something's fucky if you ask me.

That one is from after the outbreak started, though. Still interesting, but can't possibly be connected.

EDIT: Hmm but I suppose that multiple trips would be the likely scenario. He travelled specifically to Wuhan. Whoa.

Not to mention how horrible optics university students have nowadays yet think people will just agree to give them free tuition. No one is going to watch the Kaitlin Bennett video and say " yeah those future doctors deserve to have their tuition expunged."

The moment tuition becomes free, the value of the 4 year degree plummets to equal or less than a G.E.D.

Since 2014 GED has stepped up it's game. It's no longer your granddad's GED. It assesses thinking skills. It's not easy. As a result of its new rigor if students score at a certain level the GED is accepted by many universities as a college entrance exam. It's a new GED.

Keep in mind that “Coronavirus” is the generic term for all the viruses in this family, and COVID-19 is this microbe’s formal name. The virus they engineered, SCH014, was unrelated to this one, since it was a coronavirus/sars hybrid.

All indicators currently point to this being a naturally occurring virus, not engineered. Virologists are trained to notice that kind of stuff and I haven’t heard of any of them signaling that this even could be man-made.

Those Chinese wet markets are a plethora of viruses and filth, the perfect breeding ground for epidemics.

NonyaDB 116 points ago +126 / -10

Sure, buddy. Whatever you say. No way that Chinese virus lab sitting right next to that wet market and down the street from the first hospital to report COVID-19 infections had anything to do with this.
Considering the widespread panic, outrage, total war, and slaughter such a thing would create there's probably very good reasons why everyone is so quick to say that COVID-19 wasn't man-made in a Chinese lab.
Once this thing peters out, expect a shitload of Chinese virologists to wind up missing/suicided/dead-from-virus.

15
idshukhov 15 points ago +15 / -0

Yeah, thats a heck of a coincidence. Dangerous pathogens have escaped US labs, and I have much less faith in CCP safety measures. A Rutgers professor who worked over there claimed SARS has escaped into Beijing 4 times over the last couple decades.

Even if its not bioengineered, I'm still suspicious of the origin story.

9

They also had instances of bio lab workers selling dead animal test subjects for voodoo food for “side cash” because communism wasn’t meeting their financial needs.

29
BigIron 29 points ago +29 / -0

I believe the first doctors to discover it were noticing SARS like symptoms (SARS is a type of coronavirus) and started warning people that SARS seemed to be reemerging, and to take precautions. They were prompty arrested by the Chinese government for spreading 'harmful rumors'. And yet the media tells us our medical system should be more like China, where people who discover a potential outbreak are arrested in order to cover it up!

Microscopes exist, and different virus types are as different as German Shepherd are from poodles.

9
Eric-CIA-ramella 9 points ago +10 / -1

From the account of the community of doctors who discovered it in December, there was an uptick of several patients in the same region all with severe pneumonia. They ran tests, because thank God they were suspicious, and saw that genetically it was almost identical to SARS.

They started spreading the word on IM social media apps, but of course since ALL online activity is monitored by China's own personal army of groupthink police, many of the doctors were arrested and silenced.

That was their first mistake in a line of many, many fuck ups that got to where it is today.

There are also rumours that the SARS-CoV-2 was artificially, or intentionally, made by humans in the lab, and this is highlighted in one manuscript submitted to BioRxiv (a manuscript sharing site prior to any peer review), claiming that SARS-CoV-2 has HIV sequence in it and was thus likely generated in the laboratory. In a rebuttal paper led by an HIV-1 virologist Dr. Feng Gao, they used careful bioinformatics analyses to demonstrate that the original claim of multiple HIV insertions into the SARS-CoV-2 is not HIV-1 specific but random [15]. Because of the many concerns raised by the international community, the authors who made the initial claim have already withdrawn this report.

Evolution is stepwise and accrues mutations gradually over time, whereas synthetic constructs would typically use a known backbone and introduce logical or targeted changes instead of the randomly occurring mutations that are present in naturally isolated viruses such as bat CoV RaTG13. In our view, there is currently no credible evidence to support the claim that SARS-CoV-2 originated from a laboratory-engineered CoV. It is more likely that SARS-CoV-2 is a recombinant CoV generated in nature between a bat CoV and another coronavirus in an intermediate animal host. More studies are needed to explore this possibility and resolve the natural origin of SARS-CoV-2. We should emphasize that, although SARS-CoV-2 shows no evidence of laboratory origin, viruses with such great public health threats must be handled properly in the laboratory and also properly regulated by the scientific community and governments.

Or just by considering the way that viruses form and operate...

It helps to actually read the articles instead of getting half way through the headline and filling the rest in with your imagination.

The best current theory right now is that this virus was isolated from a bat somewhere as it is extremely rare in nature and was grown and observed in a virology lab. It probably escaped from there.

22
nero2003 22 points ago +24 / -2

A source for that being "the best current theory" would be appreciated. Although I'm open minded, I only see this from sites like Zero Hedge.

18
Razeontherock 18 points ago +20 / -2

It escaped. You know, like Houdini. They had it tied up in a straitjacket, locked, and suspended underwater upside down!

You should have seen this thing wiggle it's way out of that. Then it stole the keys to a mini car and drove through the hallways recklessly until it got to the exterior door with the James Bond style handprint access.

We really need to stop letting experimental viruses watch James Bond. They adapt too quickly.

She had covered politics and been a news junky for years and had her finger on the pulse. I am so happy she saw Trump elected before she died. She also told me to watch Tulsi Gabbard. She loved Trump, but could predict elections independent of her personal politics. She said he has a profound political instinct and she did not analyse like Scott Adams, for her she saw it in her gut. She saw it in Bill Clinton as well and she despised him. I miss my mom, I would love to hear her opinion on some of what is happening now

I read a few reports that four HIV proteins had been found in the RNA(?) of the virus. They reported that such proteins would not have been expected to be found there, less MILLIONS of mutations, and then only a slim possibly. (IIRC, this was published in Times of India, or India Today. Late Feb?)

(edited to add: the existence of the proteins helped the virus bond to humans, otherwise it could not have made the leap from a bat to a human host)

There were also two Chinese studies that were published that cast serious doubt on this being a naturally occurring virus, and both of them concluded that it likely originated in the Wuhan biolab. (Also mid-late Feb)

None of the stuff I read suggested that the virus was released as a bio-weapon, moreso that it originated in the labs and likely got out due to lax procedures or via infecting Patient zero in the lab. They also posited the possibility that infected lab animals were sold out the back door.

I can't verify any of the above information (I will see if i can dig up any links later, you can decide for yourself) but reading them certainly left me thinking that there was the distinct possibility the virus was more than just naturally occurring.

15
Kolob 15 points ago +16 / -1

7
jive-ass-turkey 7 points ago +9 / -2

There is evidence to suggest that Asians are the most susceptible to the catching the virus.

I am not sure why but, if true, would put cold water on the idea they released it themselves.

If they did they wouldn't have released it in Wuhan.

If it would have broken out in Xinjiang, then this theory would have legs.

The simple fact that the only lab in Asia rated to safely handle a virus like this one is in the same town is damning evidence. Added to the Chinese Communist Party's track record? Forget about it.

There is no point in even investigating it at this point for most people I think.

We can't trust anything coming out of China but know enough that it would take a mountain of objective evidence to convince the people paying attention this virus came from anywhere else.

There is no chance of clearing this up definitively and there probably never will be. The CDC isn't even allowed into China.

The preeminent virologists in the world were ready to assist, free of charge, and China said no thanks. No country where there has been a major outbreak has ever done such a thing in the past.

Combined with what we knew before this happened, that move alone tells me everything I need to know.

5
Ozarkian 5 points ago +5 / -0

6
HughGRection 6 points ago +6 / -0

I mean, if you wanted a virus to kill off excess population, wouldn't you want a virus that was HIGHLY contagious, didn't effect infants at all, and killed old folks like they got leukemia?

3
Razeontherock 3 points ago +3 / -0

Nah. Half the Country won't believe that, but will continue to "resist"

2
Kolob 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think they are more susceptible because TB is endemic and their air quality is horrific.

1
Razeontherock 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wouldn't say any of that would stop Xi from being a madman. Whether it was manufactured as a bioweapon and released intentionally or surfaced from the wild is a detail we may never know.

All I can tell you for sure is I do NOT want it!

1
Eric-CIA-ramella 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yet.

Those Chinese wet markets are a plethora of viruses and filth, the perfect breeding ground for epidemic.

So is a BSL-4 bioweapons laboratory located in Wuhan, China. There was a report on Tucker that a whistleblower stated they tested bioweapons (like this virus) on live animals, then sold them to the market for a side profit. The hopelessly corrupt Chinese Communist Party must be eradicated.

12
Thrasymachus 12 points ago +12 / -0

This seems to be the most likely scenario from everything I've seen.

I just don't buy any versions of a deliberate release or some ill-fated attempt at biological warfare. I DO buy incompetence and avarice in the form of a gaps in their containment procedure and utterly unscrupulous lab staff making extra scratch on the side selling research animals nearby for delicious pandemic soup.

1
Eric-CIA-ramella 1 point ago +2 / -1

If they wanted to intentionally release it they could've done it a.) more effectively b.) not on their own population.

There is the theory that it was meant to cull the massive Chinese overpopulation itself, but that would be like nuking a forest fire.

China doesn't want us all to get infected, they depend on every western country to buy their cheap crap. It's just negligence on China's part letting the wild animal trade run rampant in Wuhan. Then trying to cover it up and calling us "racist" for calling them out. All because they want these "natural remedies" from wild animals that they believe cures anything. I know it doesn't sound as cool as "biological warfare" but it's the truth.

3
Thrasymachus 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think the writing is on the wall for Chinese (slave) labor as an economic advantage. It was already in the works to untangle some supply chains from China, as the lower costs aren't as lower as they used to be. This, plus the fact that even someone with their eyes firmly on quarterly results and their geopolitical head squarely in the sand will find it increasingly hard to ignore any longer that China is not a friend of the US, or the West in general.

It's time to end the era of Cheap Chinese Shit. Automation is on the way anyway; I hope this incident will jump-start that transition.

But other virologists question whether the information gleaned from the experiment justifies the potential risk. Although the extent of any risk is difficult to assess, Simon Wain-Hobson, a virologist at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, points out that the researchers have created a novel virus that “grows remarkably well” in human cells. “If the virus escaped, nobody could predict the trajectory,” he says.

Ho Lee shit! That's a long paper

4
learntocode 4 points ago +4 / -0

The article in question is page 1508 to 1512. There are a couple of pages of citations and some boilerplate ethics crap as well.

These researchers made a virus in order to test the ability of this variety of viruses to spread in mice (and humans).

"[T]he results establish the viability of full-length SHC014-CoV, but suggest that further adaptation is required for its replication to be equivalent to that of epidemic SARS-CoV in human respiratory cells and in mice."

  • page 1510-1511

The paper goes on:

Although our study does not invalidate the other emergence routes, it does argue for a third paradigm in which circulating bat CoV pools maintain ‘poised’ spike proteins that are capable of infecting humans without mutation or adaptation (Fig. 4c). This hypothesis is illustrated by the ability of a chimeric virus containing the SHC014 spike in a SARS-CoV backbone to cause robust infection in both human airway cultures and in mice without RBD adaptation. Coupled with the observation of previously identified pathogenic CoV back-bones3,20, our results suggest that the starting materials required for SARS-like emergent strains are currently circulating in animal reservoirs. Notably, although full-length SHC014-CoV probably requires additional backbone adaption to mediate human disease, the documented high-frequency recombination events in CoV families underscores the possibility of future emergence and the need for further preparation.

Partial TLDR: A group of scientists at Chapel Hill NC (University) PLUS one Chinese guy from Wuhan (not making that up) wrote a paper in 2015. They conducted experiments to see if mutations of the SARS/Corona virus could be treated. They found that some mutations COULD be treated. But the SCH014 strain proved difficult.

The also said something like "Further research like this might not be a good idea, as the cost/benefit versus the chance of producing a strain that could very bad - might not be positive." (I.e, Reading between the lines (my words) we could produce something that could kill a lot of people )

2
SarahCartersPuppies 2 points ago +3 / -1

Sounds like virologist Timothy Sheahan or likely his circle of contacts who are based in chapel hill. Just read about him in an article where he comments on the efficacy of remdesivir, the go to drug globally being used for covid 19 on compassionate use basis. The drug was created by biotech company “Gilead” to combat merz, SARS and Ebola. It has shown to be effective in combating corona viruses in Rhesus macaque monkeys and is in human trials in China, Europe, and Us as we speak. Results out in April on current covid patients. Sheahan used to work for another bio tech called “GSK”.

I just invested my first 1k in stocks yesterday, take a wild guess where I invested.

Fingers crossed. Another one that’s showing efficacy is a drug Kaletra made by AbbVie

2
HuggableBear 2 points ago +2 / -0

GSK is Glaxo Smith-Kline. They're a massive pharmaceutical company that embodies everything great and everything awful about Big Pharma. About 10 years ago they were hit with a multi-billion dollar criminal case for paying doctors to prescribe drugs patients didn't need but that wouldn't have negative side effects.

0
SarahCartersPuppies 0 points ago +1 / -1

Didn’t know that about them, but they are definitely on my radar. Really makes you wonder. There’s so many racing for solutions, it’s like trying to pick a winning horse. This pandemic looks like it’s accelerating fast, and so far it looks like “Abbvie” is overtaking “Gilead” with their drug Kaletra, at least from my research. Even with a potential massive drop off in the market I gotta believe these companies will benefit due to global demand if it turns out they are most viable. Not as thrilled with potential vaccines which won’t be out for at least a year.

This is lookin on par with 1929, 1987 crash, crazy shit.

is notable not only because there is no treatment for this newly discovered virus, but also because it highlights an ongoing debate over the government's decision to suspend all gain of function experiments on a variety of select agents earlier this year. Of course they can't.

They are part of the people creating it; that's why they are ticked off that Trump closed the borders to the continent.

They wanted to kill everyone they could. This doctor quoted below should be brought up on war crimes. Nothing worse than bioweapons.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8104365/Vice-President-Mike-Pence-says-Americans-returning-Europe-asked-quarantine.html

Dr. Margaret Harris, with the World Health Organisation, said that while travel bans are useful in the early stages of an outbreak, they are of little use when the disease starts spreading freely within communities - as it has in the US.

Rather than focus efforts on closing borders, she urged countries including the US to stop the spread within their own borders by rapidly testing people for the virus and ensuring they get appropriate treatment.

Thanks Obama?

Date: November 10, 2015

is notable not only because there is no treatment for this newly discovered virus, but also because it highlights an ongoing debate over the government's decision to suspend all gain of function experiments on a variety of select agents earlier this year. The move has put a substantial standstill on the development of vaccines or treatments for these pathogens should there be an outbreak.

Mother fucker!

"Inside the Chinese lab poised to study world's most dangerous pathogens"

22 February 2017

Wuhan, China

"Some scientists outside China worry about pathogens escaping, and the addition of a biological dimension to geopolitical tensions between China and other nations. But Chinese microbiologists are celebrating their entrance to the elite cadre empowered to wrestle with the world’s greatest biological threats."

If you think that article is scary, check out above. Using Bat Adeno-Viruses as gene therapy vectors. Alex Jones was right, this is biological warfare from the deep state.

So where was this being engineered? I didn't see any mention of which lab was undertaking the experiment.

Why are we creating viruses in labs? That can literally only end poorly.

Because too much money goes to shitheads and not good people

Either way, these things exist and I think should be studied. Making our own versions to see what we can learn - is both a practical and ethical decision.

Different people, countries, and governments are going to decide to do one or the other path.

It the virus is proven to be man-made, it will be deemed an act of terrorism or biological warfare against the world.

If China was behind the engineering, they will become the world pariah.

Edit: Spez contacted me and asked that I delete this message (his bosses are extremely pissed off and worried.) I told him to fuck off.

Spreading this out as much as possible. People need to be held accountable for this.

why were they even engineering this?

Not so fast. That same paragraph suggests maybe it's not such a good idea.

Medical ethical conundrum. Effective route to vaccines and disease response - gotta make novel version of these viruses and run tests. Could potentially make super bug that wipes out our species.

Studying what exists - slower development of vaccines, etc. leading to a pandemic which wipes out our species.

There are no solutions, only responses.

Aka moral dilemma.

How many movies predicted this in their plot?

Repost from r/conspiracy over a month ago (that has since been quarantined). Engineered SARS Coronovirus spliced with HIV-1 characteristics ---> virology evolution research ---> Dr. Church / Dr. Charles Lieber ---> Harvard ---> Wuhan BLS-4 Lab / Xing-Ye Gi ---> Wuhan Institute of Virology. Requires some leg work, but it's all there.
