Brietbart just had article up about a CDC estimate that one-million Americans will die from corona virus by the end of the year. If that's the case, we need to know. Might be time to raise some chickens and rabbit.

Because if this is a parallel virus to the flu and we lost our minds this bad, clown world is way more powerful than I thought.

There was so much speculation/reports about Chinese crematoriums going full blast (no pun intended) in late January and early February. Slowly over the month of February the information (allegedly) coming out of China changed from "man on the ground" to "sanctioned by the supreme leader"

Somewhere. Someone is lying about this virus.

13
rooftoptendie 13 points ago +13 / -0

I have the sense that a lot of people are lying about this virus, in a lot of different ways for a lot of different reasons.

I think rooftoptendie is right. They all are lying. Just do some research on coronaviruses in general, it's slightly worse than a cold/flu.

100% there were some great citizen reporters that went to China when this thing broke, and had great info coming out. Soon, they said they were being harassed by the CCP, and publicly stated that if they stopped posting info, that it was against their free will. And shortly after, they completely disappeared from the face of the earth, and are still missing.

Also, videos of people getting harassed by military people for posting videos or info on what was really happening over there. Essentially, they said remove the post and apologize, or be arrested.

This whole thing is fucked, and people are still trying to use China statistics as anything remotely close to real... I would guess, at least 150 mill infected, and at the very least 150k died as a result.

They don’t give a shit about their people, so for them to react the way they did, leads me to believe this is an actual killer that is just starting to ramp up.

Neckbeards on here, will say its election tampering, or politics, or whatever, but our stable genius would never react to fake news shit like he has to this thing.

3
LordScatmanJohn 3 points ago +3 / -0

The one way I might be able to wave that off is if they were cremating anybody that happened to die for any reason during that span of time. Kind of a thing of not knowing what killed a person and just not taking any chances.

But yeah, I don't trust any of chinas numbers for better or worse. I would guess they have at least a million cases by now, but the deaths are probably close to being right. People over there have motivation to tell nobody they're sick lest they get bolted into their apartment with probably no supplies or thrown into a van like hillary and carted off to quarantine. The government has motivation to tell nobody whats going on because economy and winnie the pooh.

I've read the reports linked from 4chan about the Sulfur Dioxide (iirc, maybe Monoxide, not sure sorry) emissions outside Wuhan.

They were able to extrapolate, based on the quantity (ppm) in the air, that they had burned over 4,000 bodies, and that was just the first time they did it back at the end of January I think.

If 4,000 were dead in January, and the Commies were reporting less than I think 500 deaths at the time, your guess is as good as mine as how many have actually died now.

The goodish news is this virus is not from some wet market but a designed virus, which has been studied intensively since at least 2005, at least that is the oldest study I read on it. Which means it isn't a completely unknown quantity with limitless possibilities.

Interestingly, the "conspiracy" theory is that the virus was stolen by a Chinese research student lab worker in Canada, who was actually working under cover for the Communist party, like they all aren't or are even given a choice.

Allegedly he/she was transporting the virus to the only level IV biohazard facility on the continent of Asia that can handle such a virus, which just so happens to be located around 200 yards from the wet market where they claim the virus originated, when the exposure occurred.

The US authorities just arrested a Chinese "research student" recently that was attempting to do the same thing a couple months ago. Came and snatched him off the flight, supposedly found the vials in his sock in his checked bag, but I can't find documentation of the sock in the checked bag part, for full disclosure.

They have closed those loop holes and any air sampling data will not be getting out now. So your guess is as good as mine. I am sure our government knows.

How the fuck do you know how many died in China?? The absurdity of believing their numbers absolutely confounds me. I don't get why otherwise sane people would ever believe them. They were fucking WELDING PEOPLE SHUT INSIDE THEIR HOMES! Does that seem like a reasonable thing to do with only a few thousand deaths? Absolutely not! It was at least 10 times worse than what they reported, and it's FAR from over.

People don't seem to get that we've been experiencing this for like a month. This kind of virus spreads around for a while. Back in the Spanish Flu days it went on for a couple of years with three major waves each separated by several months. The first wave was relatively mild, though many died. The second wave was massive and that's when most of the deaths happened. The third was much like the first.

rooftoptendie 7 points ago +8 / -1

We will find out soon.

I think its a hoaxy flu, because I trust GEOTUS with my life. But I also believe better safe than sorry, and the really good thing about it is that if it's a false alarm, it gives every single community and health organization in the country a good dress rehearsal to use later as a guide for what to do and what not to do, and would make us safer in the end anyway. This is a country of preppers. I have no problems if this makes us better prepped. Mock battles train soldiers to be more effective... This would be like a mock battle for the US healthcare system.

7
SquidThrowFaux 7 points ago +7 / -0

Also a "mock battle" for everyone saving for retirement.

6
clueless_expert 6 points ago +6 / -0

Based on Ohio’s 2 community transmission cases, the OH Dept of Health says we probably have 100k carriers - about 1% of our population. Now if we extrapolate that out to the whole country, we’re looking at around 3M infected. With 40 US deaths, that’s a very low mortality rate, at least as of now.

3
Chick-fill-eh 3 points ago +3 / -0

Think about it though. It's pure 'cover your ass'. If you're the guy that leaves the only school open, and everyone gets sick, you will (approximately) be tarred and feathered.

13
flabbyfanny1 13 points ago +17 / -4

I read that article too and it is scary, but I just don't see how it could be possible given the history of it in China so far, where new cases are declining and recoveries are growing. Not trying to lessen this, but something doesn't add up.

12
Dereliction 12 points ago +13 / -1

China is run by totalitarian dickwads, which is to say that they can lie about the numbers and also take drastic steps that are improbable and unexpected here.

There was a citizen reporter giving updates from ground zero. Last post was early February from his mother pleading for information on his whereabouts and forhis safe return.

Nothing about China's numbers make any sense compared to what's happening everywhere else.

What I'm most confused about is WTF is going on with the CDC and testing here. Seriously WTF is happening with the CDC and testing?

1
Chick-fill-eh 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why does testing matter? If you assume everyone will get it, tests are just burning cash to appease a talking point.

7
nachosamplerREBORN 7 points ago +7 / -0

It’s a normal virus bell curve (Farr’s law) - Chine peaked first, because it started in China - if they’re not lying we should see the same pattern play-out in the timeline of the virus spread.

7
Charkoth 7 points ago +11 / -4

The real issue is there is no stopping this virus. China's cases have dropped because of a total lockdown. Their economy during this time is collapsing - they will need to send everyone back to work and when that happens a single person can start the whole chain over again.

The only way this virus is going to be stopped is with immunization through infection or a Vaccine. 1 Million American dead is I think a conservative estimate but realistic by the end of this year unless there happens to be any truth to hope that the virus disappears in the spring.

As many people are going to die from the inability of our medical system to accommodate so many sick people adequately as die from the virus itself. Everyone dying in Italy right now are not dying directly from the virus but in in many cases from a rapid drop in the standard of care. This is also why Iran is so bad.

8
Kolob 8 points ago +8 / -0

Seeing as no one has developed a vaccine for any coronovirus and even with nastier ones like SARS and MERS out there we are not all dying, it will run its course regardless

4
maganify 4 points ago +4 / -0

There are promising treatments (not a vaccine) going through phase 3 trials as of this moment. Phase 1 and 2 were completed during the ebola outbreak. It involves using a drug that helps zinc find a way in the cytoplasm of cells. Zinc slows the virus's progression significantly. Especially in lung cells where the virus is more likely to cause death. Slow it down enough and the immune systems can keep up.

S Korea isn't waiting on trials and have been treating all of their infected with this drug. Compared to Italy's death rate it is an order of magnitude less there. This doesn't prove that it's the drug, it could be that S Korea's aggressive testing is giving them a more accurate case count, where Italy isn't even close to knowing the true numbers there hence the high death rate.

Anyway check out this video from a Dr that has been studying this closely: https://youtu.be/vE4_LsftNKM this is his 35th update so far. The last few go into great detail how this virus works and what we can do to slow it down.

2
Chick-fill-eh 2 points ago +2 / -0

So locking down is pointless. Let it burn.

1
Charkoth 1 point ago +1 / -0

No it isn't pointless - it is to buy us time to prepare and allow a slow measured spread of the virus so as not to overload our healthcare facilities any more than is necessary.

It also gives people the appropriate perspective of the new reality with Covid-19 as another threat we must live with and like all threats they will need to make appropriate changes in their lives to account for it.

There is no hiding while this goes away - a calm and logical approach to addressing it is our best chance at minimizing its effects.

1
Chick-fill-eh 1 point ago +1 / -0

My additional advice is don't listen to someone who pretends to be a medical expert from their bedroom.

Every 'pandemic' of the last twenty years was supposed to kill a million people, according to the CDC. Bird flu, Swine flu, Hong Kong flu, SARS, Ebola, MERS, etc.

Anyone else notice how every one of them except Ebola came from China?

8
SirVilhelm 8 points ago +9 / -1

Swine flu or H1N1 started in Mexico

Also fun fact, did you know swine flu is now just considered seasonal normal human flu?

https://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/cdcresponse.htm

Years from now we'll all experience corona as a normal flu

The H1N1 virus that caused that pandemic is now a regular human flu virus and continues to circulate seasonally worldwide

5
Wintergreen 5 points ago +6 / -1

The problem is that it ravaged China and is ravaging Italy. In Italy, old people are dying from lack of care because too many people are deathly sick to help them all. Yet, in the US we haven't seen much death beyond one nursing home, and not very many hospitalization. Maybe it's hygiene. Maybe it's health care. Maybe it's different diet or genetics. Or maybe we just have managed it well so far.

7
HungNavySeal300Kills 7 points ago +7 / -0

Have you ever seen Venice? It's like Times Square but for elderly smokers who don't know what exercise is.

Also south koreans average 3 generations in the same bedroom. Once this virus left communal sleeping countries it dropped. Now that summer is coming, expect it to drop another level.

America will be mostly unaffected by this.

BoughtByBloomberg 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is both. It's OBVIOUSLY a human made virus that China didn't bother to include failsafes into it's genetic code so it couldn't replicate outside the lab. We literally have 2015 articles in Nature talking about this spiffy new corona virus that can spread from man to bat and back.

Then we have the obvious overreaction of the virus killing HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people. It's a serious thing. The current death rate of confirmed cases is high. The only thing that could have stopped this is complete suspension of international travel and now that we're already past that and have native reservoirs it's too late. Now all we can do is ride it out, build up immunity and it's be another swine flu within a few months.

Mate, no disease has ever managed to infect 100% of a population, so you are missing a number in your math.

If 20% of 330m get infected, and 3% die, that's 1.98m dead. At least, that's how it went in the dense cesspool we call China.
