I wonder if there is a different mutated strain of the virus in Italy. Apparently their 67 year old medical chief just died.

In any case, block Europe until we find out for sure.

What people don't seem to understand is that there is one particular symptom that is present in all the deaths: Pneumonia.

I don't mean the actual pneumococcus virus, I mean the symptoms of pneumonia, primarily fluid on the lungs and the severe coughing that goes along with it. This leads to reduced oxygen intake and physical exhaustion, which can have a cascade effect and cause systemic failure. The people most susceptible to this are older people because they already have lower oxygen levels just by nature of being old. Your lungs aren't as efficient as they once were. It's also why kids are basically immune to this thing and just feel like they have a cold.

I think it was Bill Mitchell who called it a viral pneumonia, and he's absolutely right. The only difference between this and any other pneumonia is that this is much more transmissible due to its long incubation and ability to live outside the host.

Much like AIDS.

AIDS killed with pneumonia. This thing is airborne AIDS.

Except for, you know, mild symptoms that go away on their own, but yeah just like AIDS. Give me a fucking break
