You need courts tbh. The NAP covers everything except for when theres a disagreement about whos right and wrong. We cant just lynch innocent people because if you go to long doing that somebody you know gets lynched
Why would it say anything about our capitalist system? Except this is a good time to make a buck off idiots who failed to plan for their basic necessities.
Always demanding a safety net for life is childish. Stop looking to someone else to solve all of life’s problems
Butt hurt, not in the least. I’m tired of winey bitches always looking for someone else to solve their problems.
Such a large segment of our society has become just like you, weak, feeble and unable to take any personal responsibility. The store having everything you need is not their responsibility.
Capitalism is the only proven system to lift massive amounts of people from poverty. The government is the cause of our problems not the solution.
You want a specific store with a warehouse filled to the brim with all the essentials and nothing else, you should start it.
Did you watch the president speak? The CEOs and such?
Quantitative easing
Government working with industry to bolster inventory & testing
Small business programs
He's doing some of the basic things I was just called a bernie bro commie for, on his fucking forum nonetheless. Go figure, me and the "communist" President Trump. I guess he's a bernie bro too now.
My grocery store is fine. I think a better answer would be to educate the idiots who are panic buying and stop fear-mongering in the first place. Our system routinely handles sharp increases in demand and rapidly recovers from temporary supply chain interruptions.
I've lived through more than a dozen serious hurricanes. The vast majority of impacted stores have supplies rolling in within days, and normal stock is generally restored within a few weeks at most. Heck, the last big storm I went through, we got electricity back in less than 24 hours.
Side note, when the inevitable pre-storm panic sets in, and the stores run all out of bread, there's ALWAYS plenty of yeast and flour on the shelves. Since my family isn't full of idiots, we eat nice, freshly baked bread during the "shortage"
So, if our capitalist system cannot cope with relatively minor risk or interruption what does that say about it?
No system can sustain a large portion of its population making mad dashes for certain supplies. Cut the boo capitalism shit. The problem is too many people think nothing will ever go wrong, despite the fact America has seen its share of weeks-long catastrophes, and they're in a perpetual state of woefully unprepared.
The fuck is anyone's excuse not being prepared to some degree these days? It's easier than it's ever been and not too costly. That is, you buy things that either don't expire or will take many years to do so over long periods, instead of all at once... like toilet paper... which doesn't expire. Laughs in double roll 24-pack that's been at the bottom of my bathroom closet for something like four years
So what is the logical progression of our capitalist system as it stands if we were facing a much larger more lethal threat? What happens to our food supply? Is starving to death in a capitalist country different than starving in a socialist status quo shithole?
Make your "venezuela" comments all you want but the FED is injecting at least $1.5 trillion into the market as we speak. That's not fucking "capitalist" at all.
Our system is capitalist like a tranny is a woman, I mean, we can pretend
This the inherent problem with politics and stupid people in America
Just like socialists for Sanders you can't even begin to adequately explain why I'm so bad & wrong, so you don't. Before you know it you're just another dude at the circle jerk.
Na, I'm just saying cheap little "bernie bro" jabs don't elaborate thoughts or ideas
It's just as dumb as a leftist calling a Trump supporter a nazi simply because that's what their friends do.
It's ok if you're just following the pack, not everybody is gonna really understand why they believe in certain ideas or think that they should.
so the market should be controlled by idiots who act like selfish zombies?
I'm not saying the stores shouldn't be open, I'm saying that there should be a law enforcement presence where dumb humans are fighting over toilet paper and hand sanitizer
Most the supermarkets where I live are only allowing each person to buy one pack of toilet paper or paper towel per visit. The shelves are mostly empty except for a few stores.
Perhaps the Federal Government could help specific US companies compete with Chinese toilet paper, hand sanitizers and cleaning products? Allow such companies to apply for a little assistance to expand their factories so they can switch from normal demand to silly hysterical bullshit rapidly, to accommodate the next clown world liberal shit show crisis?
Oh yeah, and that is definitely a great thing. But he can't do shit about the ones imposed by the states, and numerous and varied municipalities which also stifle small business potential.
Yes, for one of the few justifiable reasons which is national security.
I'm not a fan of such mechanisms, but I think this is one of the few exceptions that makes sense. That, or we add tariffs to Chinese personal hygiene products to encourage the US marketplace to fill the role without providing them with direct support.
"Yes, for one of the few justifiable reasons which is national security"
But everyone says that I'm some deplorable "bernie bro" commie for even broaching the topic of panic buying at retail stores and here you are wanting to pick industry winners & losers based on "national security".
The government chooses industry winners and losers all the time, based on a free market principals: i.e. a company's ability to win government contracts based on capitalist competitiveness.
If a company applies to fulfill a need that the Federal Government wants for national security reasons, then the best applicants will be hired and compensated accordingly. In this case, the company / companies will be expected to prepare their factories to accommodate a sudden demand for greater production and maintain that state of readiness to mitigate future bullshit hoaxes about seasonal sniffles.
I was going to write a snarky insulting response but decided that it was a stupid thing to do, so here is an actual resource to learn about my (and many others) opinion on this topic. Please listen to it.
Hey thanks a ton for posting this. Really outstanding video I'm just finishing up listening to, and a new channel to subscribe to. Makes some incredible points!
I gave up with dedicating any time whatsoever to how the US government handles the Fed, back in 2008. It's equivalent screaming at the sky like a delusional hypocrite leftie.
Giving up doesn't change the god damn demonic nature of fiat currency, fractional reserve banking & the FED system
Capitalism for us, socialism for the banks and their billionaire shareholders. Wouldn't it be nice if some politicians came running to you with $1.5 trillion of other peoples money?
Shit, regaining control of our currency and treasury is probably the biggest thing we could do to ensure freedom & liberty for ourselves and future generations.
Ummmm no. That’s asking government take over aka Bernie sanders mantra. In a proper capitalist system, such a crisis makes companies aware that they can create products for emergency situations and also manage their inventory better. It all plays out just fine at the end. Also since there are hundreds of manufacturers for the same product, the competition helps keep the companies innovate and target different people too. In a government controlled system, this all fails and the government tells you which person gets how much of a certain product.
Also stores already have their own set limits on how many of a product each customer can buy. What really needs to happen is people need to learn a lesson from such situations and plan ahead for emergency situations. Not more government.
It makes no sense for normal supply chains and retailers to be capable of coping with basic emergencies. What, are they supposed to carry the loss of paying for storage and spoilage on vastly over-stocked products that are completely unnecessary 90%+ of the time? Are producers supposed to make way more than they're capable of selling every production run just because once in a blue moon something bad happens and a few consumers failed to prep for it ahead of time?
At some point you have to let natural selection take its course. If someone wants to endanger their own life over the last roll of charmin, it's not necessarily in the public interest to stop them hurting themselves. This goes doubly true for anyone wading into a riot over a Christmas present.
There already ARE laws to deal with every serious situation you mentioned. As usual, more laws is no substitute for enforcing laws that already exist.
Panic buying raises the economic numbers. That's great! Backfires on the DemonRats again when the economy report comes out for perishable goods. Gonna pump them numbers up and make Trump look like the master of the disaster for the DemonRat party. TRUMP 2020!
Kind of strange though that we shopped yesterday at our supermarket and it was fully stocked and only about half the usual crowd was shopping. Not sure why where I live there is no panic buying. Plenty of wipes, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc. Strange seeing the opposite in other parts of the Country.
Seems kind of communist to me. Pass.
You need courts tbh. The NAP covers everything except for when theres a disagreement about whos right and wrong. We cant just lynch innocent people because if you go to long doing that somebody you know gets lynched
So, if our capitalist system cannot cope with relatively minor risk or interruption what does that say about it?
Keep in mind the FED & the gubmint are dumping trillions in cash on the market, very capitalist if you ask me...
Maybe you could help me understand how the mega corporations are going to plan for the next pandemic that is much more lethal.
No, I don't think I will. You may be able to be helped. But I'm not wasting any more of my time on you.
Come on, the Bernie Bro's can't answer questions either.
What, have I committed some wrongthink in regards to capitalism?
If shit is so amazing you should be able to speak on the subject
Why would it say anything about our capitalist system? Except this is a good time to make a buck off idiots who failed to plan for their basic necessities.
Always demanding a safety net for life is childish. Stop looking to someone else to solve all of life’s problems
It's that our system is so fragile that it can't handle sharp increases in need without everyday items becoming unavailable
That's a huge fucking problem
What do we do next time? People never have answers and your grocery store is rapidly emptying.
What do we do next time? Are you as dense as a rock?
PLAN AHEAD FUCK FACE
so butt hurt
You understand that the same thing could be said of the retail market...
You know, planning ahead & such
Butt hurt, not in the least. I’m tired of winey bitches always looking for someone else to solve their problems.

It's kind of like the distant mirage of "affordable private health insurance"
If not now, then when?
Just no. That's some Venezuela shit right there.
So what is the logical progression of our capitalist system as it stands if we were facing a much larger more lethal threat? What happens to our food supply? Is starving to death in a capitalist country different than starving in a socialist status quo shithole?

Username: death-by-government
Wants government brownshirts to interfere in the economy.
Name checks out.
The government shouldn’t control the market
so the market should be controlled by idiots who act like selfish zombies?
I'm not saying the stores shouldn't be open, I'm saying that there should be a law enforcement presence where dumb humans are fighting over toilet paper and hand sanitizer
Produce more. This is America not some communist shithole.
Did World War Two rationing make us some communist shithole or was it a prudent thing to do in a time of emergency?
Nah, man.
If people aren't prepared for basic emergencies, that's on them. This ain't Commie China yet.
spez: edited bc I was rude. My apologies.
Being prepared is always a good plan.

When your local store runs out of TP, ....... go for the Imodium. The street value of those pills could make you a wealthy man.
There's people on Denver Craigslist trying to sell toilet paper for up to $500
That folks is Venezuela shit
OR get rid of burdensome regulations and hidden taxes which stifle small business growth and opportunity.
President Trump is already cutting more regulations than any President in US history and is continuing to do so.
Oh yeah, and that is definitely a great thing. But he can't do shit about the ones imposed by the states, and numerous and varied municipalities which also stifle small business potential.
But wouldn't the government helping specific industries be market manipulation
The only capitalist thing to do is cut regulations and taxation
Yes, for one of the few justifiable reasons which is national security.

Tom Woods: "Price Gouging" Is Urgently Necessary
Hey thanks a ton for posting this. Really outstanding video I'm just finishing up listening to, and a new channel to subscribe to. Makes some incredible points!
You sound like a communist.
As opposed to the trillions in quantitative easing happening right now under Trump?
I just want some basic rationing during emergencies a la WW2 and y'all don't bat an eye when the FED fires off $1.5 trillion to "save" the markets.
that shit is delusional
I gave up with dedicating any time whatsoever to how the US government handles the Fed, back in 2008. It's equivalent screaming at the sky like a delusional hypocrite leftie.

You and I definitely agree on that regaining control thing.
People bought all the damn shitting paper from my local Walmart... I may have to macgyver a bidet out of a water bottle and tubing.

Mods - Clean up on aisle 3.
Come on y'all are acting like some /r/politics pansies just because I made a wrongthink
None of you mother fuckers can elaborate on why I'm wrong
You ever meet someone who says "there should be a law to control this: (insert personal dislike here)!" spez: and they say it all the time?
It makes no sense for normal supply chains and retailers to be capable of coping with basic emergencies.
