To the point that Joe used to be a good orator, I'm starting to wonder about this. I've seen an old video on Pelosi (10 years) and she is just as confused and simple minded. I thought I'd go back to Biden (and more Pelosi) to see if I just had blinders on.
For instance, I remember during the vice presidential debates, Biden kept telling Ryan that "Iran didn't have anything to put the fusion in." regarding nuclear weapons. And I'm thinking, that makes me feel better how?!
Almost everyone declines, the problem is how much.
A Professor sounding* slightly* less sharp at 62 than he is at 42 - even if he's kept up to date and regarded highly in his circle still - would have been totally acceptable.
Biden's totally falling apart like a (I'd think) typically senile person is just sad. You wouldn't disgrace a normal senile person by shoving a mic and airing his incoherent and/or just down right stupid answers on live National TV to 5 million people, right?
