While the sentiment is a good one, America's systems are nowhere near capacity. The US was voted most able to handle high volume globally. Because, surprise surprise, there's less rationing of care due to mostly public systems.

Places that have healthcare systems with 5-6 hour wait times normally are of course going to suffer extra volume.

They're in the bottom 25th percentile in the EU. They're also the bottom 25th percentile for doctors and nurses per capita, as well as hospital beds per capita. They are near the bottom for healthcare spending per capita.

Are you kidding me? My mother went to get outpatient imaging today and as soon as you walk in some mid-level administrator was asking us if we had cough, fever, etc and if we've been out of the country in the last 30 days or been in contact with anyone who has been...
