Everyone else harbors so much resentment because we make them feel inferior. One of the main problems here is their egos. Another problem is that we're too nice and compassionate.
It seems like madness, I know, but keep in mind some of those people owned family farms longer than America has been a country. There's still a lot of history there, a lot of pride in their hearts.
People there (both black and white) have been thoroughly brainwashed to believe the evil colonists chased Bantu tribes off their lands using force and violence, when the historical truth is that the tribes in those days were relatively small in number. The majority of the population today are actually descended from indentured workers and (gasp) slaves who were brought in from further north in Africa by the British. So many of the cries for restitution were based on a lie, because in many cases the European presence on those lands predated theirs by hundreds of years.
Racist to bring this up obviously, just as it was racist to in any way impune St Nelson Mandela the peacemaker (who contrary to Hollywood wasn't in prison for being black, but for setting bombs that killed innocent people (in some cases children))
I still harbour no hatred or racism in my heart - there are good and bad people of all races. The locals there were just a political tool, our real enemies were the Jimmy Carters and Henry Kissengers of the world. The "educated" NY times editors and sanctimonious "entertainers" who everyone still took as gospel back in the 80's. Powerful, influential liberals who saw a country of patriotic, Christian prosperity as something that needed to be forever snuffed out.
I've always believed my country was a guinea pig, a trial run for what's being exectued today in the rest of the world. There's just too many familiar patterns that keep repeating
