If you read the original article, they actually made a mistake when ordering and accidentally ordered BOXES of TP paper instead of rolls. Lol. This happened before the shortage, and he decided to post pics of their shipment. It happened several weeks ago in Australia!
I figured it was something like that. TP doesn't actually come in boxes, it comes in plastic wrap cases, so a box, or a throne of boxes, means commercial shipping.
I went to Costco today. Not a scrap of paper to be found. I didn't check the office printer paper section, though.
They were spraying and wiping all the carts as they came back to the entrance. But I took one from the lot and it was not sprayed for me, nor were there any self-serve wipes at the door to clean with anymore. They obviously ran out and switched to having a "cart crew" wipe down the cart supply at the front door. Employees were also spraying and wiping lots of door handles around the store, like at the cold food sections. Just imagine how easy our yearly flu seasons could be and the lives saved if stores did this all the time during the winter.
My wife and I were lucky today, up here in a Canadaland Costco.
We were in literally the right place and right time to have an employee chuck a pack of TP in our cart, while yelling at someone who had taken two. No questions asked, I said thanks and moved on. lol
They had just received the pallet and were handing them out, supposedly one per customer but we did see a couple people being cashed through with more than one, so maybe not every employee was on the same page...
I've heard they might have some within the first half hour after opening. They should just have a drive-thru set up in the parking lot for us members to get our ration without having to foot race to the back of the store.
The whole toilet paper thing is stupid as hell. If society shuts down there are things you need way more than toilet paper. Worst case you wipe your ass with a sock and wash it to reuse. These people are terrible preppers
Why toilet paper? I went to the grocery store to get ice and there were people there with carts filled with ONLY toilet paper. I get if you want to have some canned food or water, but toilet paper is the least essential item in an emergency. You can use anything to wipe your ass if needed, but you'll starve or dehydrate long before that becomes a problem. People are so fucking retarded and easily led.
