I hate red flag ERPO’s, but there is nothing in this article to indicate that is what happened here. It said there was a warrant for firearms related violations. Nothing more.

That means it's worse than a red flag incident. A red flag, by definition, is supposed to bypass a warrant because the threat is supposed to be so great that action is needed immediately.

With a warrant, this murder had the full approval of a judge.

He was prohibited and there were firearms in the household. Which could have been owned by any of the other non prohibited residents.
