Honestly, it's because the virus is here, and has been here, for a much longer time.

We have had no testing for it here, and I know several people who have had illnesses over the flu season which come back negative for the flu with similar kinds of symptoms.

Remember, the vast majority of people just have mild to moderate symptoms, get better, and move on with their lives.

The good news is, this may mean we have more people already resistant, and that it may be no worse than a bad flu in terms of mortality.

The bad news is, once we roll out widespread testing, we're going to see a massive spike in numbers, which is going to freak people out.

i wonder about that. I had a seriously bad cold in jan/feb where i was coughing up bloody snot.
