The mayor of Champaign, Illinois, gave herself the power to ban the sale of guns and alcohol after declaring a citywide emergency to address the coronavirus.

So to the best of my ability I've been able to find reports of only a single child possibly infected with Wuhan flu within the county in which Champaign, Illinois, resides. Explain to me why a mayor needs fucking Palpatine-esque emergency powers when there's no emergency?
