The coronavirus doesn't worry me. What worries me is the mass hysteria it's causing. I can't afford to not go to work, it's a small firm with only five employees. We don't receive any benefits or catastrophe pay. Fuck the left and everyone creating mass hysteria, scaring the shit out of people and forcing employers to tell everyone to stay home.
I'm more concerned with the over-reaction to this. It's a very contagious virus. So we shut most the economy down for a month or two. Okay but people will still have it. It only takes a few people for this thing to start spreading again. We can't keep the economy like this until every last person is recovered, it's just not realistic.
I think we're going to see the countries where it ran it's course will recover faster and get back to the normal ways of living. I'm afraid we're over-reacting and are going to have to fear this thing for 6+ months, because it's not gonna disappear anytime soon.
There's ways we can run everything as normal and let this thing run it's course while still being smart and keeping spread to a minimum. Hiding from it is only going to delay when it spreads and we're not expected to have a vaccine for a year and that's best case scenario.
The fact of the matter is this is a very contagious virus and people are going to die. Hiding from it doesn't stop that, it just delays the inevitable.
I don't know, I hope to God I'm wrong because if this lasts for longer than a few months it's going to have a huge affect on the election. But not only that the economy will take years to recover from being neutered for 6+ months
No this is false. Corona virus is not the flu it will not be affected by seasonal shit. Remember that. I work In healthcare. Where I can agree and appreciate the not spreading panic. Don’t let your guard down. Stay vigilant
We believe this virus will respond seasonally.
This virus has been studied by over 30 countries. They have all concluded that COVID-19 and it's 2 major strains are very sensitive to UV-C light (254 nanometers) and even 'UV-C Far' (222 nanometers). This means that it is also very sensitive to sunlight. As daytime/sunlight increases in the northern hemisphere day by day it will neutralize the virus in the air and on surfaces. It also doesn't do well in hotter/humid environments. I don't have much more info on why. I wish they would publish these findings somewhere easier to find.
I have read studies that show the virus is way less infectious when subjected to heat. In some instances it’s only living on warm surfaces for up to 3 mins. Is this not true? I’m genuinely asking, not trying to be a dick
The US economy isn't being shut down. There will be some inconvenience, but it's not being shut down.
Italy is shut down, because they ignored the problem until it got out of control. Spain is close. France is close. Lithuania may be imposing a 15 day quarantine on everyone.
By doing this now, we hope to avoid the need for complete shutdown.
Unfortunately, the "emergency" bill passed by the House has been loaded up with pet pvovisions by the Democrats.
I think one of them requires you (as a small business owner) to pay sick pay after 14 days if someone cannot work due to coronavirus infection (themselves or someone they care for). It's only for employers with 1-499 employees!
I can't find it again quickly. If I find it later, I'll followup.
This is mostly true. The employer has to pay for up to 14 days of paid sick leave at 2/3 of the employees salary. That entire amount can be written off as a tax credit for the business (100% credit) the following tax filing. There are some upper level limits for employees making over $300K per year though.
Thanks for the clarification. The article I read about this wasn't clear on the details, and I haven't been able to find it again.
The writeoff as a tax credit blunts the impact on small business, although they would have to find the cash before the end of their fiscal year. It might be hard for an undercapitalized business that is already struggling.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will allow it to pass over me and through me and when it has gone past I will turn my inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It will slow down in the summer and pick up in oct/nov

How do you know that? There are many types of corona virus that just cause the common cold, which is seasonal. Why is this one different?

I was thinking the same thing.

I know Trump basically shamed Pelosi into taking out the abortion funding from the bill, but which of the demcraps' pork didn't get cut out?
Not all of it. From what I've read, the abortion funding was one of the ONLY things that got removed.
This goes to the Senate next week. We'll see what happens.
So it’s ONLY for small businesses? Wtf.

I hope the left and the media get explosive diarrhea.
It already comes out of their mouth every time they talk.
They bought out all the damn tp so they’re ready
Fear is the disease
