Mom & Dad & grandmother would always stop to pick him up if he was walking on the highway. As I started driving at 15 or so, I would too.
I'll say one thing for Rex, he was always freshly shaved and was pretty dapper, most of the time. He'd clean up in the bathroom at the Town Hall or at a friend's home, I guess. He called my grandmother by her first name, don't know if they went to school together or what. Now I'm curious...
