I 100% certainly wouldn't invest myself emotionally into speculating (a.k.a hoping) a 500k-to-1 chance that things turn out into my liking.
It's like if someone leaked some info about Hillary testing for Coronavirus I wouldn't invest emotionally so much that I get sad or disappointed that Hillary didn't get the illness, same for most pedes. The odds - even if Hillary is physically weak and ill is like 1 in 50 chance of myself getting any "emotional win". I don't waste time to play such odds as to create a 49/50 losing situation for myself.
