6 hrs ago: Uber Driver: I gave 4 rides tonight, all of them going to bars or clubs. After the 4th, I logged off, pulled into a parking lot, and sobbed. No one is quarantining. No one is listening. They don't know it yet, but they are killing each other. The sense of hopelessness is overwhelming.

Was at Waffle House having breakfast for dinner last night around 11 pm. Plenty of people doing the same as us, unconcerned with this silliness. Waitress told me that schools were closed for the next 2 weeks, prom and all extracurricular activities were cancelled, glad my daughter is homeschooled.

I own a small neighborhood restaurant that seats 50 people. Praying they at least let us do takeout/delivery. Thats basically all it was this past week and we did pretty well. If they close us down completely , who knows what will happen. Most places will probably get knocked out never to return.
I laugh but I'm annoyed as well. I need to pick up some perishables (milk, lettuce, etc) for my 90 yr old parents at some point but I'm over 60 and shouldn't be going into crowds myself. This is actually what we look like when we are succeeding. It could be much worse if this spread quicker and a lockdown had to be announced sooner.
This is why people should have prepared in advance. Even if the virus is nothing too crazy, its better to have food and supplies before the stores are mobbed with sick people and supplies are low.
While I get the concept behind it, why not let the restaurants and people decide what to do? Personally I’m not the biggest one in my family to ask to go out and eat, but I know some people are more reliant on outside food for one reason or another. Instead, why not ask restaurants to move more towards take out during this time? As others mention, this can only crowd the stores during a time where we don’t want that!

Not sure if you are aware, but Wal-Mart has been doing home delivery for a while. They have shifted focus of fresh groceries to drive through pickup. Turns out, many people don't want refrigerated items delivered to their door front when they may not be home
The "refrigerated items" at walmart aren't necessarily refrigerated. I often see items that are just out and about throughout the store. That's why I would never order online.

The restaurant I ate at last night had zero people besides my wife and me.
Was at Waffle House having breakfast for dinner last night around 11 pm. Plenty of people doing the same as us, unconcerned with this silliness. Still, the restaurant has to keep the temp at 67 degrees f, can't put metal silverware on the table and isn't supposed to leave menus on the table either. Waitress told me that schools were closed for the next 2 weeks, prom and all extracurricular activities were cancelled, glad my daughter is homeschooled.

I went to the grocery store at 7 am to avoid people. There was hardly anyone there, took Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer with me. Wiped the cart, wiped my hands after loading everything into the car. VERY consciously didn't touch my face! I'm retired and don't need to go out for anything at all.
In Italy they only allow very few people into the store and inside and out they enforce social distancing. It's like bread lines, insane.

I own a small neighborhood restaurant that seats 50 people. Praying they at least let us do takeout/delivery. Thats basically all it was this past week and we did pretty well. If they close us down completely , who knows what will happen. Most places will probably get knocked out never to return.

I laugh but I'm annoyed as well. I need to pick up some perishables (milk, lettuce, etc) for my 90 yr old parents at some point but I'm over 60 and shouldn't be going into crowds myself. Everyone is panic buying and the stores have stopped delivery and even in store pick up services. I'll give it a few more days and see if things calm down a bit but I think I'm just going to have to put on a mask and hope for the best.
