It would be even less than 1% if we tested the countless asymptomatic cases. The scariest aspect of this disease, its death rate, is ironically a statistical artifact of the fact that it's such a mild disease that most have no symptoms and never get tested.

Around 2.8 Million people a year die the United States. Around 8,000 a day. Every day.

8,000 people died yesterday. 8,000 will die today and 8,000 will die tomorrow. Society keeps going. Through the pain. Through the loss.

Yesterday there was press conference because an Emphysema patient contracted COVID-19 and died. Tomorrow there will be more press conferences. Maybe ten or twenty.

8,000 will die without a press conference.

Today, my company shut down our main office to minimize the spread of COVID-19. No one was sick. We make components that are critical keep the power grid functioning.

My NeverTrump Vegan sister and I agree on ONE thing... Wuhan Virus Plague!! Both of us are over 50 and have been watching the videos coming out from Wuhan BEFORE Trump closed the China flights. (We stay away from politics entirely as the election cost us two years without any communication. It’s not worth losing family!!) But we Freakin BOTH agree... WuVirus is much more contagious than Flu. Started later in season than Flu so numbers are not an exact comparison at this time. NonSymptom Infected Hosts are Young, Healthy and Constantly Social Mingling with an active WuVirus that They Will spread from 5-14 Days. (ActiveFlu on a Host is 1-2 days) Flu virus dies quickly on surfaces and is killed easily with simple washing. WuVirus lives on surfaces up to 9 Hours and is tougher to kill. Wipes need high percentage of Alcohol. Lysol and Bleach work if used without diluting under 50/50. WuVirus is hardest on people with Pre-Existing Conditions... Respiratory, Obesity, Smokers, Drug Users, Diabetes, Cancers etc...not just elderly...children with diseases are at risk too. I have lived thru the list of all other world health concerns... this time is hellishly different. It took only three months from watching it in China to actually infect my Orlando sister & her husband (unconfirmed as no WuHan test was available but Flu results were Neg) United States is NOT the ONLY Country Quarantined and Shutting Down. Yes the MSM is using this as an opportunity.... Yes my 401k is scaring the Fuck out of Me! But I have so much Trust, Faith and Belief in our President!!! He has Never Let Us Down and He ALWAYS WINS!! #StayTheFHome would be awesome... but Americans are independent thinkers and Trump is just herding cats at this point. So Sad.

We all agree, and it's been obvious from the start the numbers we've been given are skewed. Our problem is "they" are using the conflated numbers and collapsing the economy. My job is in jeopardy. Your job is in jeopardy. Your kid's future job is in jeopardy. The question becomes, what do we do? I'm not sure what the answer is. The ballot box is an obvious answer, but if we are still in this by November, President Trump will just be picking up the pieces. The virus is the threat in only as it is being used to take down our way of life.

I have the feeling in a month we’re going to be thankful we’re taking the precautions we’ve taken. The President got a ton of shit for blocking travel with China when it looked unnecessary, and look how that turned out. Right now this all looks senseless, but when the body counts in the rest of the world climb into the tens of thousands, and ours are relatively much lower, we’ll change our tune.

Trust the President, this is all coming down from the top.
