The ramifications of the fallout are more detrimental than the virus

13
America1stAndOnly 13 points ago +13 / -0

I'm getting the same kind of vibes I got after 9/11. People were scared and willing to give up their freedoms to feel more safe. Now everyone is concerned about staying alive and as a result nobody is living.

15
sustainable_saltmine 15 points ago +15 / -0

well at least the one thing this will do positive is stop mass protests, not that they wont try

12
AslanFan 12 points ago +13 / -1

Uncle Sam hasn't said that. It's your state or county government + business owner. POTUS says live your life.

Yeah Columbia is the spiritual personification of America. Uncle Sam is the government who you shouldn't trust.

The powers that be have decided this is worse than any world war or any recent human challenge, even though it's not. I'm not saying it was cooked up in a lab, but they are using the spread as a weapon against those who dared vote for populism. Trump tried to calm everyone down, but they wouldn't let him get away with that. Any level heads are being silenced.

20
SwampDrainerLocal911 20 points ago +20 / -0

Regardless of if it was cooked up or “mutated”, it’s a weapon now, and the globalist fucks are firing that weapon into the crowds.

13
Webasdias 13 points ago +13 / -0

It originates from China and has cost them a staggering amount so far. I doubt they did this intentionally.

This is just a "never let a tragedy go to waste" thing.

7
TennesseePride 7 points ago +7 / -0

I don't think it was on purpose, but it is surely serendipitous for the democrats. They are running a senile, corrupt old creep who has trouble even reading from a script in public. This is will take the focus of that dumpster fire and give them all sorts of chances to run fraud schemes in November, because this is not going to go away any time soon.

3
trumpORbust 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yep --- beware vote by mail

5
publ1us 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yep. It blows my mind that people can't imagine that it was accidentally released and is now being used as a weapon. People will call you a conspiracy theorist as if you said George Soros genetically engineered the virus and released it himself to fight GEOTUS.

Meh, let the sheeple do their thing. I was able to walk into Dunkin and back out in less than a minute, compared to waiting in the drive-thru line. Besides, the owner is a based Indian, so I'm glad to support him and his family.

Well, we didn't close down the city and cancel hockey for e-coli

The bar was a ghost town last night, was kinda nice actually. I'm in nazi massachusetts, so looks like we're going to be drinking at home for a while. Such bullshit.

5
Barbs 5 points ago +8 / -3

As long as people have this attitude, I hope you’re ready for martial law. I’m dead serious. Right now we’re in the voluntary phase, unless people think they can still drop in on the donut shop like normal, then it becomes compelled by force.

2
America1stAndOnly 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was just saying earlier that I'm getting a lot of post 9/11 vibes.

2
TennesseePride 2 points ago +2 / -0

Regardless of if you think this thing is a hoax or the end of the world or somewhere in between... You need to understand that the concern is real, people reactions are real, and the government measures that are going to be taken will be real. Plan accordingly.

OneOfMany_MAGA 18 points ago +18 / -0

I’m hoping this ends up like Y2K.

However, I also know they are going to pin every death from this Chinese flu on Trump in order to steal the election. He really has no choice but to pull out all stops. Otherwise they will tally all the flu-related deaths as “avoidable” due to his action or lack thereof.

10
HockeyMom4Trump 10 points ago +11 / -1

Fortunately, Trump is doing a great job.

3
Tellman125 3 points ago +3 / -0

Remember how the shitty losing Democrats were gonna start with a SECOND impeachment? Then they went with this other bullshit instead. Meanwhile, from April 2009 to March 2010, 59 million had gotten the swine flu, but the New York Times wasn't calling it "Obamavirus" -

http://archive.is/40wLd

The 2009 flu pandemic in the United States was a novel strain of the Influenza A/H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as "swine flu", that began in the spring of 2009. The virus had spread to the US from an outbreak in Mexico.[116]

As of mid-March 2010, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that about 59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus, 265,000 were hospitalized as a result [0.4%of the estimated total number of people who contracted it], and 12,000 died [.02% of the total number].[117][118]

Nearly everyone in my family dined out this past weekend. No crowds (which is pathetic). Husband and I enjoyed a nice meal at a local Chinese restaurant for the third week in a row.

Everyone needs to get a grip and not cripple our own local economies.

-6
Barbs -6 points ago +1 / -7

Interesting, the President is telling us the opposite. We need to stay away from each other right now. Are people just not paying attention?

3
stepping_razor123 3 points ago +3 / -0

Do you have a link to video or statement where POTUS said to stay away from each other and not go to restaurants?

I did see the Dr. Fauci I think his name is say HE would not go out to a restaurant but he is 78. He said he thought closing restaurants would be overkill.

Funny that this is where we’re at. Clown world is now about people buying TP, like, the fact that people even know what TP strands for is funny in of itself.

8
HockeyMom4Trump 8 points ago +8 / -0

I am so baffled by the TP hoarding.

That says so much about the people in our country...

I can’t wait for Trump to joke about this in an upcoming rally.

Should give everyone entering a roll with a "Trump 2020 / Coronavirus Killer" printed on each roll.

Someone quick! Get ready to launch your products...

I survived Corona Virus 2020 T-shirts!

If we are quarantined and stuck at home, start up a YouTube channel...work on household projects...do a major Spring Clean. Let's be productive through this.

I'm trying, but my local hobby shop has now banned people from meeting there to play games, something they've always allowed and encouraged. Restaurants are closing. Bars are closing. Meanwhile, my job at FedEx is still going.

I can't do my job from home and when my job stops getting done is when people will really panic instead of this pseudo panicking. I kind of feel like Atlas right now with how important I suddenly am to the world. Just wish I was getting paid like I was important.

I feel like we have been invaded by a bunch of crazy people wanting to get every Trump supporter infected with a Chinese Virus

1
Barbs 1 point ago +3 / -2

I hear ya. The amount of skepticism is off the charts. The one thing people seem to forget about “the boy who cried wolf,” in regards to the media, is the last time he did it there actually was a wolf.

We apparently only remember the actions in that fable and not the ultimate lesson.

0
jaysizzles 0 points ago +1 / -1

I know. This is maddening. Actually, there are wolves out there. Trump is doing his best to try to keep us safe, but that doesn't doing a lick of good if we don't all pitch in and do our part. Panic-buying and hoarding is bad. But so is downplaying this. It's shitty, but social distancing works and we should all be acting like based patriots and doing our part.

I've been lurking and giggling at this site for a long time, but I finally started posting since this started because I feel like the majority of us are not taking this seriously. Maybe I'll get banned for concern trolling, but JFC... My sister and her fiance are both recovering from it now. For them it was not a big deal--like a really, really bad cold. But we were supposed to be having her wedding this weekend and cancelled it a week ago. I can't imagine how terrible I would have felt if we gave it to our grandfather and he spread it throughout his retirement community.

This isn't a joke and we need actually take it seriously... Stop comparing it to the flu, it's really unhelpful.

4
America1stAndOnly 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hear hear! I work at FedEx and don't have the luxury of not doing my job. It can't be done from home and thought nobody gives any thought to us when we're doing things right, people sure as hell notice when things aren't going perfectly fine.

6
Shroudedf8 6 points ago +6 / -0

I guess it was only a matter of time before we start getting Kung Flu concern trolling. Praising the chicoms and castigating the rest of us for being prudent is fucking moronic. You're very ignorant of a lot, which makes me suspicious that you aren't even in the US. Lastly, the chicoms didn't weld any doors shut to quarantine people. That video you watched purporting that was bullshit. Had nothing to do with the flu.

I have tried to be a little more diplomatic then yourself, but I share the same sediment.

not sure if this is a rural trump supporter vs more urban trump supporter thing - I live in a city and I can tell you the shit is a serious threat

why these irrational virus memes keep getting stickied is beyond me, I feel like our movement has somehow been co-opted...

5
stepping_razor123 5 points ago +6 / -1

I upTrumped you because you are being reasonable. The poster you replied to is being hysterical and not thinking straight and is scared. Fear causes people to act irrationally. As this poster is doing.

My Old Man is all up in the Wuhan Flu and he calculated and showed me his maths how 200,000 Americans could die. I said "80,000 died from flu in 2018 how do we decide what number of deaths is the appropriate number to freak out about?" He said its not just the number it would overwhelm the healthcare system.

I think well that's not nice. That will be a tragedy for those people and their friends and family but why are they not prepared? I will tell you why because as a society and our media and governments have been focused on global warmings, feminism, LGBTQP, bringing in non white immigrants, migrants, rapeugees, illegal aliens, trannie sex shows for pre-schoolers. I could go on and on.

Other than people inclined to vote or like President Trump most people in the Western World have been acting like complete careless fools since about 9-11. All those idiots had their party and now they might, and I say might have to pay the price. They are scared the hangover is coming and want everybody else to freak out.

I'm not going to freak out or live my life in fear because the healthcare system may get overrun. Its nature. People die. Any animal species in nature faces die of from time to time. We need a more rational response to what is a natural event however tragic it is.

We have taken our economies to pre 1933 depression levels with this panic. We might not recover. We are fucking over the futures of my children and myself and people my age because people may die-just as they always do every day.
