“My grandmother used to say a hit dog will holler — and it hollered through this room. … Now I’m not calling Mr. DeSantis a racist.I’m simply saying the racists believe he’s a racist”
That second statement could be interpreted as Gillum believing that the "racist vote" is why he lost. So if you couple that with the drinking/meth excuse, the mythical "racist vote" is why he says that he started drinking.
