I'm not concerned about this false flag but I am concerned about them changing and subverting legislation when no one in their right mind have the time to read through all the changes. That is my huge concern and right now here in Maryland, the National Guard has been deployed and I fear with more restrictions of capacity in several buildings, we're going to get martial law as early as possible and I hate that.

What's next? Gun confiscation under the guise of "social security"?

How would this be enforced? Not that I am encouraging mass gatherings, but if the bar on the corner stayed open and the restaurant next door to it as well, and they all took appropriate measures and remained Corona compliant there aren’t enough resources to cover this. Here’s a novel idea: head to the airport, borders, and the remainder of the resources conduct an all hands at testing sites and emergency rooms. We got this folks. This isn’t Iran no need to start digging mass graves nor is there a need to head to your cousins wedding 4 states away. There’s a happy middle! “Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...”

Federal law prohibits it.

The law was enacted in the aftermath of law enforcement doing so in Louisiana in the aftermath of Katrina.

This particular law is better than trying to assert a 2nd Amendment challenge and going through years of jurisprudence. It also provides for legal costs to the plaintiff, making it easier to pursue violators.

It's not perfect, but it's a place to start.

DisgustedByMisleadia 3 points ago +3 / -0

We got into this whole mess in the first place, because laws were being ignored and claims of "well you have to let the courts decide what the constitution means" were becoming commonplace.

Yeah, I understand. But, I don't think the framers expected Congress to violate the Constitution regularly. So, we need some arbitration process.

Personally, I wish there was some penalty for violating the Constitution. If bureaucrats lived in fear of losing their job for a violation, I think we'd see a lot less of it.

For politicians, I'd accept "three strikes and you are fired", because we need citizen legislators that may make mistakes, rather than lawyers.

For judges, my first thought is: "you get overruled, you lose your job". But, there have been legitimate cases (like DC v. Heller) where a district judge went against precedent. Without the ability to challenge precedent, bad decisions would never be overturned. Maybe "3 strikes" is appropriate for them, too.

How is it a false flag? Do you not see what is happening in Italy? This is going to overtake our hospitals if we don't get it under control fast. Check out this guy's Twitter who I saw; he's a physician in NJ/NYC who is currently handling COVID-19 patients at his hospital.

https://twitter.com/BioBreakout

Go back to his Tweets around Feb 29, and slowly scroll up till you get to the last day or so. He goes from bashing it as "just the flu" and overblown hysteria, to now admitting he was completely wrong, and that his hospital is running out of beds and fast. We have a real crisis on our hands and for some reason people here seem in denial.

1
themightykekfish 1 point ago +2 / -1

flu shill. Mods can we get a immunization on this one?

2
ClownTamer 2 points ago +2 / -0

Reading the account they linked, it’s somewhat suspect. I’m not saying it isn’t real, but if that guy’s really a physician, you’re not supposed to say things like that in a public forum. His website is also just a parked GoDaddy domain. Knowing a little bit about regular admittance to hospitals, it also sounds like he’s just trying to talk up fairly mundane numbers of cases of people going to the hospital.

I’ve only really seen people in that space freak out on social media, not in the real world of people I know in the medical community right now.

1
monk_of_trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Be worried. They thought about working people going to their jobs and carrying on with their lives, so they instituted mandatory shutdown of businesses all over the country, even areas without any known infections. They are actively sinking the economy by starting a panic.

7
MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 7 points ago +8 / -1

Flatten the curve.

People also forget companies are still PAYING their workers (if you're not getting paid call HR and remind them of the economic relief put in place so both companies and workers can get their checks). That means there's a lot of money slushing around for two weeks.

What do people do before a disaster, buy....what do they do after a disaster...buy.

It happen in 9/11, people panic bought and when we went to War...consumer confidence jumped high as we were 'taking the fight to the enemy'.

5
MuadDon 5 points ago +7 / -2

The economy already reacted to a panic. Incapacitating more isn't going to improve the economy. People should do whatever they can if they have to, but if we can hold tight for a bit, all of this will go away and the economy will recover rapidly. There's nothing inherently wrong with it and everyone knows that.

5
Brucesky420 5 points ago +8 / -3

but if we can hold tight for a bit, all of this will go away and the economy will recover rapidly.

bull fucking shit. This thing is very contagious. All it takes is 10 people having it and it will spread again. We can't fucking hide from this shit. We have to just let it run it's course

Recession: HURTS EVERYONE

Coronavirus: Kills 2% of people, most of which had pre-existing issues and would have died in the next 1-2 years anyway

This is fucking hogwash. More people die of cancer each year than this virus will kill. More people die in car crashes each year than this thing will kill all year.

I know it sounds cruel, but sometimes you just have to fucking let things run their course. It's absolutely fucking moronic to shut down the world economy over a slightly-more-deadly-than-the-flu virus

If we go into a recession, more people will die from suicide than people will die from this virus.

1
ClownTamer 1 point ago +4 / -3

This post is sad but true. The quarantine’s and city shut downs are pointless. If someone has to do so much as go get food, they’re fully capable of spreading it to everyone in their city, such as going to the grocery store, which they need to do to survive. This all sounds scary until you realize you could easily be saying that of the flu. So far this seems less deadly than the flu in that it doesn’t seem to kill kids. I’d much rather get the flu than miss a month or more of work and have everyone freak the fuck out and buy up all the toilet paper.

I’m also 2% worried that the left is going to use this as an excuse to enact their own version of martial law in an attempt to take over, which they could seasonally or conveniently reenact when it suited them. Pretty out there and far fetched, but so is the way they’re blowing up the economy over the flu. This is definitely more contagious than the flu, but the flu thus far has been a bigger threat.

It’s pretty sad to think that they’re basically just giving you a play by play of how the flu works on national news networks, only now it sounds terrifying. Still see people blaming this on Trump in my area all the time. One guy even blamed it on capitalism. I asked one of them what they wanted Trump to do, and they just got snarky and vague like they always do with no content to what they were saying. One said this wouldn’t have happened if Trump was a better communicator.

MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 4 points ago +5 / -1

Right now its hard to call, because in the middle of a pandemic the numbers are everywhere.

In the U.S Alone we have the least amount of recovered. This can be for three factors one the people who are recovered are still in their shedding phase as they are over it. Two, people are staying ill for longer. Three people are not recording to their medical professionals that they do not longer feel ill.

I get it, but at the same time its not fear mongering. Doctors are trying to practice preventative medicine. I know its standard for majority of Americans (guilty of this as well) to ignore that until they get sick. However in this case maybe its best to listen to a doctor.

5
deleted 5 points ago +6 / -1
4
MAGA_MEXICAN_CHILI 4 points ago +4 / -0

Still even if its just the flu or similar to it. We have to stop with the whole "Im sick, but Im ok enough to go to work." Companies lose so much money with sick people going to work than them calling out. If you think about it hard, that's why doctors are telling people to stay home. They know if they dont, people who may or may not have the disease will go to work and spread it. Its simple as that. The media is hyping it up but lets use some common sense here.

A worker who is sick will eventually get his co-workers sick. So even if that worker comes back to work, two or more co-workers will call out. Its even more disgusting if your wait staff is sick as people will refuse to be served or leave the restaurant. Its far better for said sick person to stay home, it means the healthy workers can still work and business can go on as normal. If you think about it, that's the standard and in any other administration it would be covered at a 9pm slot and about it. The Media is tuning this up to 11 because they want a black swan effect for the election. If anything the kids staying home will probably get better education in those two- eight weeks than they have all school year.

1
ClownTamer 1 point ago +1 / -0

This doesn’t seem like a fair comparison. You’re talking about someone that’s actively sick staying home from work, which is fine. Almost nobody is actually sick in this case. The response is as if everyone in the US had the flu all at once.

As far as keeping it from escalating too quickly, or stopping it from spreading, I’m not seeing how the made up quarantine efforts are going to do that. It’d only take a handful of people in a town to spread it to everyone else, much like the flu. It’s not like there are going to be more hospital beds if it happens 2 months from now than right now. And again, it’s basically the flu, with most people just feeling like they have the flu and staying in if they have it. Some people in nursing homes and with preexisting conditions are going to die, just like the flu. That sucks. Just like the flu sucks, not like what this has been made out to be.

We are keeping our small business open, we have no choice but would do so regardless. Too many people rely on us, we'll be open until the economy/Society completely breaks down. Because we support infrastructure we may even remain open after other businesses close, we provide service during emergencies for example.

As I used to tell people, if it's midnight Christmas Eve and you call, if we can help you I'll need an hour to get my boots on and meet you at the shop. But plz don't call midnight Christmas Eve.

Let your Faith be stronger than your fear, People. Yes there are very trying times coming, many people will panic or become depressed or resort to crime/violence...or find escape in drugs or other mindless things. Be calm, be that solid rock of common sense others can rely upon.

If you need help ask, if you have Strength lend it as needed, don't be afraid to Lead if it needs doing. It is likely to become somewhat worse, more communities will be semi-quarantined, schools and places closed temporarily. We are going to be expected to stay home more, to not move around as much as we usually do, bars and clubs will close, other venues.

But those who can will need to still support local businesses, groceries must be marketed, essentials bought and sold. Do not let fear drive you, yes we must all adapt a little but do it in a positive manner. Adapt to protect yourself from the virii but also to STILL support Society.

Let your Faith be Stronger than your fears. Use common sense, but do not succumb to despair, remain positive, positively support your community.

If we don't then we will have no community.

streakybacon 0 points ago +1 / -1

Good work, but can I just ask why you think that's relevant? The way the Wuhan coronavirus transmits, cleaning your store can only hopefully stop surface contamination. That's if you can maintain 0 cross contamination. That won't stop the virus from being aerosolised, infecting through pores or eyeballs for instance. It won't stop it from entering vents or airconditioning or from being on people's clothes.

I am not criticising you here, just wondering why cleaning the storefront is relevant in light of the above. I get it's a precaution, but it probably won't change anything if the virus is as bad as they say.

5
GulagDweller 5 points ago +6 / -1

I was in a dollar store yesterday and stupid people were asking staff if the door handles were being cleaned/sanitized with clorox. Keeping peoples minds at ease by cleaning, even if not an effective activity, is good customer relations. I'd just put out bottles of water labeled clorox and be done with it. People fall for this hysteria, they will fall for anything.

-1
streakybacon -1 points ago +2 / -3

If you ask me, you are either okay with contracting the virus or you are not.

If a country can get infected despite quarantine efforts, so will any shop. In an infection area, of course.

You either don't think the virus is that bad and you don't mind taking your chances with long term consequences or reinfection or you do. Half measures won't stop it in an area with local transmission.

Either category is a perfectly valid opinion to hold at this point but I personally don't want to contract anything that came out of either the conditions created by the CCP or by their labs or espionage.

1
GulagDweller 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don't think anyone wants to contract Corona, the regular flu or anything else. I just know it's an overblown exaggerated event. I have no issue with people taking precautions, but do we live our lives continuously worried about every single thing that can kill us? There are literally thousands of other things a person is more likely to die from other than Corona, unless you're over 80 years old. That this has everyone in a panic is just bizarre. Again, the REGULAR FLU season has taken possibly 55,000 lives from October till now.and we should be worried about what?

1
streakybacon 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm not sure if it's that simple, but I don't think panicking helps. Are we panicking? I don't even know yet.

I saw Wuhan and I don't want that anywhere near me. I don't trust China's explanation for anything or their account of what happened

For now, I stay cautious and ready.

I'm not ready to give up and wait for government assistance just yet...

Everyone I talk to thinks the reaction to this is insane...unless the goal is to crash the economy

christ93_1 9 points ago +9 / -0

All the people I talk to say the same. Hysteria is reigning.

whiskey_shitz 6 points ago +6 / -0

Theres a lot of folks who see it as intentionally manufactured hysteria who aren't getting swept up in it too.

Just gotta wait it out and hope the DS is out of ammo.

I'm here and I'll be here. I work in a remote office... only about 5 people in 1000 sq. ft.

I'll probably be here when the shuffling dead are knocking at the door.

Had to go to work. We're making bank on firewall upgrades to support virtual offices and work from home refugees.

I'm an ICU nurse. There's no way I'm getting out of this one. In all seriousness, I'm glad to help. I wish I could do more. My wife is pregnant with twins so I am concerned about bringing something home to her when she is so close to giving birth.

I went to work, but I can work remote. I went in late and left early. The suburban town I hit the grocery at on the way home was nothing short than the opening of a zombie movie. Fucking sirens everywhere (probably unrelated) and the store was a complete madhouse. Yes I bought some extra long term stuff, because the shelves were bare as fuck and the lines went around to the back of the store.

We didnt NEED stuff until it was all being bought out.

Luckily, I already have a stockpile of ammo.

I already work from home but I’ll upvote because that is the conditioning

rossagesausage 5 points ago +5 / -0

Working from home. Agreed though. Just wash your hands and get good sleep and this will be a nothing burger. Biggest worry is other people who are panicked and under-prepared.

I'm a flight attendant at work today because I have to be or I'm penalized. But I am thankful to have a job and get paid!

Well, I ain't no ways tired. Bought 250 rounds of .38 and 250 rounds of .380 this morning. Also some bug out supplies for water filtration and a Swedish Fire Steel.

Unfortunately my work shut down due to the fears due to our incompetent mayor shutting down anything that is city related or works with the city (i.e. as a vendor).

I help make IV bags for hospitals and sick people. The plant is hiring some temps to work weekends for the next few months. What i think of the panic or the virus is irrelevant, it is work until you die or need one of the products we make to get back up

I'm here today but will be forced to start working from starting Wednesday for at least the next two weeks.

I went to work today despite it being slow as fuck and heavily reliant on customer tips. I have Credit Card bills due this week and the Credit Card companies don't give 2 shits if there's a Global Pandemic going on or not.

Dunno man. I'm a service desk technician, and working from home was pretty dope. Hell of a day though.. I never want to hear "VPN" again. T.T

Alternatively, you understand that responsibility means building a savings and banking vacation time so you DON'T have to go to work and risk the health of your family.

But hey, I don't live at or above my means so who am I to judge your decisions. Consequences belong to the individual.
